Worst dining experience EVER
by divadawn
I will NEVER be back to this restaurant again. I came in with a date on Sunday night for a quiet dinner. The restaurant was moderately full; the bar still was fairly full due to an earlier football game that was over for at least an hour. Sat by the deck window, and there were 2 large parties of 8+ opposite who were VERY LOUD, yelling, hi-fiving, etc. Mangement did NOTHING to calm them down. Other patrons who came in at the same time were also upset. The food was good when we finally got it, but server FORGOT my side dish and I did not receive it until almost end of meal. Then a group of football hooligans who were in the bar decided to go outside to the deck (which had been closed; they should not have been allowed out there), and proceeded to sit at the outside bar and make lewd gestures AT ME while I was eating! One of them then THREW ICE at the window to get my attention; I just got right up and found the manager and told her what just happened; she basically did NOTHING to these jerks and made some comment about "Well, it's game night!", like there was nothing she could do about these drunken asses! Last time I checked, the Seahawk game was OVER, and Joey's is NOT a sports bar, filled with drunken frat boys who think they can get away with obnoxious behavior! I spent $100 on dinner and was treated so badly it's not funny. Manager tried to appease me as I left by offering a gift certificate - I declined, and she proceeded to CHASE AFTER ME as I left the restaurant! I am just appalled by this whole situation and will also be calling management. DO NOT EAT HERE.
- Pros: The food was at least good
- Cons: Poor service, BAD management
Extraordinary Food, Great Service, & TOTALLY HOT Waitresses!
by Kirkland Resident
We often go to the Lake Union Joeys (Bellevue location too) with my wife, children and friends. The food is always outstanding with a great and fun selection. The view is amazing and the service has never been anything other than awesome. The staff is always extremely friendly too.
I have got to say though . . . the waitresses are BEYOND SMOKING HOT! Holy cow!!! How can Joey's find so many totally gorgeous girls? Not only are they absolutely beautiful but they they wear short skirts, killer dresses, high heels, etc. It's hard to keep your eyes on the table.
Please visit if you haven't already. You will not be disappointed.
- Pros: Hot Waitresses
- Cons: None
Food is great - service mediocre

Been to joeys 5-6 times and the food is always perfect. This last time the server was just too busy or ???
Nice guy whenever he finally made it to our table, but just wasn't the best.
Horrible employer

If you are looking to work here, DON'T. I have heard multiple horror stories from previous employees. While much of the kitchen and wait staff is very friendly, the management is a whole different story. Management is condescending, immature and conducts based on a popularity contest while belittling employees along the way. It is a joke. Almost every single person I have known to work there (which is approaching 10 now) has left feeling unhappy to say the least. They entitle some to faux-management positions, that come complete with power-trips and egos. They are quick to reprimand for minuscule mistakes yet rarely take the time to acknowledge, let alone reward, high quality service and above average behavior. Not to mention the fact the servers work harder than most other restaurants as they seat the tables, bus their own tables and carry out all the food in the restaurant to everyones tables and do so for minimum wage. Similarly, the kitchen is always working hard (which can be seen easily by anyone since they have an open kitchen). I am writing this because I am tired of seeing young, hard-working people and friends being treated in such a manner and with such little respect. (I cannot speak towards the bellevue location or if they have any similar problems, for all I know it is nothing like the seattle location)
- Pros: food, service, cleanliness,
- Cons: management, treatment of employees
Nice environment

Loved it! Of course it doesn't mean it was perfect every time we went there but comparing to other restaurants I loved it!
Waitress forged my tip on receipt
by gsxr206
I've been to Joey's several times because some guy friends of mine like to go there for drinks. The waitresses are attractive, the decor is great, the view is wonderful and the Habatchi wings and blue cheese fries are DELICIOUS! However, all that does not make up for the rude service. I've had about 3 bad experiences there but I will provide you with my worst:
I arrive with my friend and we're seated in the bar. We order our food (habatchi wings and fries) and also 2 shots of tequila. We waited 20 minutes for our shots even though we could see the bartenders and they weren't very busy. We reminded our server twice. She never seemed very attentive or interested in providing us any service. Finally the tequila came and then the appetizers about a 45 minutes later. They were brought to us by a different server, not the original waitress. That server left before I could ask for a refill of water. Finally flagged a server down for a refill and my cup returned with about 100 tiny crumb looking floaty things in it, it was disgusting! Where the h3ll did they get that water! I flag down our original waitress, I hold my glass up and tell her its got things floating in it, she then proceeds to blame me, telling me "Well its your original glass"!
After being ignored the whole night, waiting 20 minutes for tequila shots, served dirty water, and blamed for the dirty water I decided she shouldn't be tipped.
A week later I notice my credit card was charged $15 more then it should have been for a TIP (on a $24 food bill)! She wrote the tip in. I had to make 3 phone calls to get my money back. The manager told me they'd "taken care of her" and were letting her go. My guy friends saw her working there last night. So they basically allow fraud to happen to their customers and do not care how much you complain because they will still remain succesful do to the large amounts of ugly men who go there to drool over the waitresses.
- Pros: Habachi wings, blue cheese fries
- Cons: bichy waitresses, dirty conditions
best place for bad service.

If you like being left alone at your table with your menu folded and still you will love this place. The servers are great at taking your order then rushing you once your plate comes. The only place where I have had the server ask me if I was done once the plate was in her hand. My wife with fork still in hand and picking her plate had the server come up and grab it off the table. In the air and off the table the server asked if she was done. WHAT THE HELL!!! The the only reason for going is the view of old men with out shirts drinking bud light on there 25foot power boat.
- Pros: leaving
- Cons: coming
Yummy Pomegranate Mojitos :)
by sunihanneken
Excellent place, loved the ambiance! Our server was awesome, the food/drinks were delicious and sweet, sweet icing on the cake, we had a brilliant lake view! Definitely will return. :)
- Pros: View, innovative food and ambiance
- Cons: hmm - my experience didn't have any
Off peak, outside nice weather, great cocktails
by dougfbn
I had been to Joey's before, with a group of friends, for cocktails and light snacks - we stayed in the (stylish) bar section and it was packed, Friday happy hour - lots of young people, and where DO they find the wait staff? not one that could even be called homely or average looking. My mom and aunt were coming to Seattle for a visit and I wanted them to try the Bellini - we went during the week, on Tuesday, at an off-peak time (2 pm); it was glorious weather, we sat outside and watched the sea planes, and ordered snacks and cocktails - we were seated promptly, were fortunate to have Danny as our waiter (who was surprised to find out he had been mentioned favorably in these reviews); he was pleasent and helpful; food was quite good, mom LOVE the Bellini - she does like sweet "harmless" drinks; both were very impressed. I had a chance to see the rest of the restaurant and was impressed with its sleek interior - great design with dark wood and pendant lights over the tables. At some point I will have to put them to the test and go for dinner. But if in doubt, definitely do as I did, go off hours when the weather is nice, sit outside and have a great time ..... and maybe even ask for Danny.
- Pros: Ambience, cocktails, waitstaff, appetizers
- Cons: potential for dis-organization I think
thumbs up
by word_of_mouth
I had the salmon w/ green beans and a fried mashed potato roll (weird, yet good). I loved the food and the restuarant had a very romantic feel w/ the dim lighting and very modern decor. The service was good and we were promptly seated. I saw the other review that said she wanted over 30 mins. I guess it depends when you go. I loved it.
- Pros: love the decor and food
- Cons: parking
