I haven't written a CitySearch review before, but I'm out of town for a few months and I find myself MISSING MY GYM!! I'm not exactly a body builder, so this comes as quite a surprise! Kor has so much to be commended for---they've outfitted the place with an excellent array of equipment, considering the limited amount of space they have. They've got a great room for classes and another for Pilates work as well as a shower room with a spa-like atmosphere. They've decorated it well with interesting art on the walls and a relaxing garden-like space out front. But what really makes Kor, well, Kor is the staff. Others before me here on CitySearch have praised co-owners Dr. Lee and Christine Hazelton, and, obviously, they deserve a great deal of the kudos and the credit. But I must also praise the desk and site management staff--Damian, Hannah, and Megan---they are warm, kind, conscientious, and smart. And no less the trainers, all of whom are perennially friendly, cheerful, and helpful. I should also single out the trainer L.B. for praise, in that his Qi Gong classes go way above and beyond your typical gym offering. When the door closes and his classes begin, you really feel like you've entered a dojo---like you're in the presence of a master. I mustn't forget Einstein the dog---technically, he's Christine's, but it feels like he belongs to all of us. I can't explain it exactly, but he brings such a special something to the place; I look for him every time I go. As you can see, I can't say enough good things about Kor. I'll just end by saying that, in a place that can be as cold and heartless as Hollywood sometimes can, it really is nice to have a gym where everybody knows your name!
Pros: Size, friendliness, atmosphere, expertise, range of classes
Cons: parking

Okay, if it were not for Christine and her little dog Toto...no, wait... reverse that... Einstein... I would be licking butter off the plates at Dan Tana's. Okay I am not making sense. I LOVE this place, very simple, easy going and never crowded which I love. Great energy. Everyone who works at Kor is super nice and awesome other than Christine, she is the Devil. Truly a monster. But I keep going every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 7am to get abused by her, so that says something. She is great. Kor is great. For those of you who want a great work out, no jokers, and no preening, I would look no further than Kor. You won't regret it!

I LOVE this gym. I have had the opportunity of training with a couple of trainers there, and they were/are both terrific! The owner and my current trainer, Christine Hazelton, ROCKS! She is inspirational, funny and whips your a** into shape -- with quick results! The functional training approach used at Kor is empowering and teaches you how to use your body correctly in and out of the gym. The atmosphere is completely comfortable and not intimidating AT ALL. Everyone who works/trains/works out there is GREAT. I know this probably reads like an ad for the place, but i cannot recommend it enough. My experience at Kor has been transformational.
Pros: Training, Results, Clientele, Low-Key Atmosphere
Cons: None

Kor is literally changing my life. I am not a huge fan of exercising at a gym but I'm even less of a fan of my flabby buttocks. So, I thought I'd give it a try. With just 8 sessions with Chris, my trainer, I can already see a difference in my body and, more importantly, with my overall well-being. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming and the lack of gym attitude adds to the really relaxed atmosphere. Oh and there's Einstein. He's a dog. Sometimes he'll make you play ball. I cannot stress enough how much Kor is NOTHING like other gyms. Highly recommended.
Pros: Small, no attitude, great trainers, dog mascot
Cons: sometimes parking isn't great

Before trying out Kor, I held a rarely-used membership to an oversized impersonal gym where I lacked motivation because I felt intimidated by the size and atmosphere of the gym. I found myself having to wait to use certain machines and just couldn't connect myself with the whole exercise process. I soon dreaded going and after not too long, just stop going completely. I was recommended to Kor by a co-worker and now I work with a trainer there who's totally changed my outlook on fitness. I now enjoy going because I know how good I'll feel when I'm done. It's brought a positive change to my life that I just couldn't find anywhere else. The knowledgeable trainers made the switch to a healthier lifestyle easy because I now understand the science behind it. The friendly staff always remembers me and makes me feel welcome and the small, intimate setting encourages a home-like feeling. I definately don't miss the flourescent nightmare that my old gym was. At Kor, I see the same people all the time and feel comfortable there. And of course Einstein, the gym's adorable canine mascot always brings a smile to my face. Kor encourages a healthy lifestyle not just a hot bod ;) and I recommend it highly to those of you that are sick of feeling like just another credit card number.
Pros: small intimate setting, knowledgeable and motivating trainers, organic feel
Cons: just several parking spots but park on the street and the receptionist will feed your meter for you!

I have been looking for a good gym and maybe personal trainer. I looked on City Search and saw what I thought was a lot of hype. I mean how could so many people say the things they say about KOR. I just started going there and it really is all about me. The moment I walked in the front door they guy at the front desk made it all about me. I couldn't believe he wasn't just giving me a BS line. He introduced me to Chris the owner who is also a trainer. She was also all about me and what I wanted to achieve. I was introduced to a few other trainers and some of the gym menbers. I felt like they all were friends who I had always known. I saw a well known television star working out with her trainer. No one made over her. She was just an ordinary person there working out like everyone else. This is the best little secret in West Hollywood. You really do have to see it to believe it. I love it there. I guess I will take City Search as the gospel in what they say about various businesses. You guys are right on.
Pros: It really is all about you
Cons: Parking is a bit of a problem. Have to park a ways sometimes and walk. It is worth it.

I went to a professional mixer and met a guy who works at KOR. Just to be nice I went for a complimentary work out. Wow, it was the best thing I have done for myself in a long time. I now have a personal trainer who works with me to gain not only a great looking body but also one of strenght. Everyone there is really great. It is like working out with your friends. I go in the evening when it is less crowed unlike other gyms at that time of day. The only attitude there is that you can do it. Everyone help motivate you to work on yourself, body, mind and spirit. It's great. Try it.
Pros: Personal Trainers/staff & Life Coach Damian are beyond great
Cons: Parking at times

The trainers are great and have so much fun with what they do. The gym stays clean and has its own style that I've never seen anywhere. They have so many fun toy's to do "kor" exercises with and each trainer is so creative that you never seem to get bored with a workout. I can't imagine going to another gym, I'm addicted to this one.
Pros: Fun and friendly staff
Cons: hard to find

If you're tired of going to places where people don't wipe up their sweat on machines or hate getting in line for them, you have to go to this gym. Super clean. LOVE the hard core "I'm going to get killer legs if it kills me" spin classes. Folks there are friendly. Oh, and they even rent out shoes for the spin classes. Protein shakes are yummy too! And the dog there is super cute. =)
Pros: Clean place, friendly staff (no sales pitch), killer spin classes
Cons: Parking can be hard to find sometimes but they do help you feed the meters!

I love the gym. Very low key with fun atmosphere. The staff is super friendly. So many actors and stuff and not snobby at all. It's my gym now. I was with equinox but, no more.
Pros: Great staff
Cons: nothing I would say
