I enrolled in the one week bartending course offered through Seattle Bartending College and was instantly impressed. The instructor is extremely knowledgable, professional and truly cares about the success of her students. The challenging, yet laid-back atmosphere successfully generates the most effective learning environment. I enrolled simply to broaden my knowledge about alchohol and mixology, however the school has a very dedicated job/career placement service available to its graduates which I foresee being extremely valuable to the individuals who are interested in pursuing a bartending career. This program is one that I cannot recommend enough. The quality and comprehensiveness of instruction is one that I doubt can me matched in the Seattle area. Additionally, the dedicated job placement focus for its graduates is one that truly places its graduates in top-notch bartending positions through the Puget Sound. If you're interested in a career in bartending, or are like me and simple wanted to increase your personal knowledge about the art of bartending, I forward my highest recommendation for this course. The one week course was rather demanding (40 hours of instruction, plenty of homework), but the school offers more lengthy courses and allow flexible attendance, as necessary. The small cost of tuition will provide an amazing return on investment whether you're looking for a new job or simply looking to learn more about bartending and mixology. This course vastly exceeded my expectations and I am very glad I spent the money to attend and graduate!!

Pros: Great instruction, good location, plenty of opportunity for practice, great value, challenging

Cons: Standardization of study could use some slight fine-tuning

Before I signed up, I checked out all three of the local bartending schools. I can honestly say that Seattle Bartending College impressed me the most in their setup, their follow through, their professionalism and their strong balance of education and humor. I had a blast during my two weeks at SBC. The instructors are top notch professionals with plenty of real world experience. These stories help temper the book aspects of the class. The hands-on is accomplished in a realistic bar setting, including set up and tear down (with colored water for the booze - no free drinks!) There's a lot to learn and they go the extra mile to make sure you get it. I graduated with hundreds of recipes in my head as well as confidence in pouring. They also provide job placement - they don't just kick you out the door, they help you get in and solid (including a pool of people to do parties and weddings). Bonus: field trip to a local brewery to see how its done.

Pros: professional experience, job placement

The staff & instructors at The Bartending College are all experienced bartenders with a depth of knowledge that comes from personal bartending experience. They teach in an organized and professional manner, and offer tons of tips & practice time in their realistic & fully equiped bar-simulation classroom. Their job placement efforts and connections in the Seattle bar scene are second to none. I recommend them highly to anyone seriously wanting to learn both a trade and a profession in a relaxed & friendly atmosphere.

Pros: Great Teachers, Fun & Relaxed, Job Placement

Learning at the Bartending College is well worth it. I had a great time. The most fun I've ever had at school. I took their full certification course and graduated in two weeks. The next week they set me up with a job interview and I landed the job. Thanks Joleen.

Pros: Fun, Valuable, Great Facility
