Get a different mover!!!!! NO INTEGRITY! They do not do background checks on their moving guys. If anything is stolen, the owner does not make amends. They really damaged our ceiling in several places and did not return hardware to furniture they took apart. They ask to be tipped individually or else the lead guy keeps all the tips.
Cons: They misplace (aka steal) and damage property. No background checks

This review message is for the public as follows : My name is Thomas Shanks owner and operator of Action Moving (SEATTLE).I would like a chance to explain the mis information in all of these reviews and then explain all of these as they are displayed.First off I believe a few of these reviews are based on 3 other companys with the same name Action Moving. We are the original and only seattle based Action Moving Company in Seattle since 1993.Their is another Action Moving based out of Spokane Wa. And another Action Moving based out of Vancouver Wa. And also Action couriers based out of Sea-Tac Wa.We are not affiliated with any of those other 3 which some of these reviews are most likely are about. The first review i would like to address is (digitex) I do not know anything about this review I have never called any customer and cancelled at the last minute and we have never rescheduled a move, unless the customer requested it.That was not the case and i believe this review to be about another Action Moving elswhere. The second review (ashleywat) is misleading and I would like a chance to explain the true and accurate circumstances that occured that day.For one we sent 2 movers to that move not 3 as the customer writes. She told me their was only a few stairs for the piano and their ended up being 14 steep stairs and we do not move pianos over 4 stairs maximum as that is our policy. They were less then truthful on the information provided to me and they would need to hire piano movers that could afford the liablity. The third review (hollyname) is also misleading we arrived on a very rainy day and procceded to move them. however we did show and performed the move.Once again the customer told me there was only a few stairs up for the piano, although she really wasnt sure, ther ended up being 21 stairs. The 4th review (pederick) we gave this customer one hour and 15 minutes time off the bill ($106.25) and we do not insure particle board.
Pros: Please review our site at www.actionmovingcompany and testimonials
Cons: none

They should not be in business. Do not use this company. The owner cancelled one hour before the move then proceeded to hurl insults and profanities at me out of the blue, swearing loudly for about 10 minutes before I hung up. Before the cancellation they rescheduled several times only to cancel at the last minute.
Pros: NONE
Cons: They cancelled at the last minute while providing a good dose of verbal abuse

We moved into a new apartment in March 07 and heard from a friend who recently moved that these were one of the movers they had considered using. We didn't follow up and boy was that a big mistake. These guys arrived late and when they did show up, they had one older, overweight man, one stronger guy, and one guy who sat around and bossed the other two around the entire time. We had already moved everything except for 6 pieces of heavy furniture and our piano. Our new apartment had some pretty bad stairs and when I originally called to get an estimate, they said "No problem, we've seen it all". When we arrive at the new place, they tell us that it is absolutely impossible to get the piano into the apartment, which is the only reason why we hired movers to begin with. While moving our *6* pieces of furniture they complained and bitched the entire time. Then we had to go rent a storage unit in Seattle to temporarily store the piano until REAL movers could get it which ended up costing us over $300. In the end, they charged us for four hours even though they had only worked 2 (nobody told us that driving time counted towards our bill). $900 later we had a couple of dented antiques and a piano sitting in storage. The next day we hired professional piano movers and they got it in no problem. This was the first time we have ever hired movers and it was a horrible experience. Do NOT hire this company. When they are being nice, they are obnoxious and tacky (e.g., picking through my goodwill pile) and when they are irritated for having to move furniture of stairs, they are whiny and irritable.
Pros: None
Cons: bad service, bad attitude, and overcharging

I regret ever hiring Action Moving Co. to assist my husband and I with a move from another state. I called in advance and let them know we had a piano, with three stairs to go up, and they assured me this would be no problem. The movers, a guy & a gal, showed up 3 hours late, spent the first 30 minutes arguing with my husband about whether or not they could unload the truck where it was parked, and then the gal spent the whole time whining about how heavy our furniture was and how her shoes were to slippery to walk down the ramp at the back of the truck. On top of this, at the end they informed us that we would have to pay $50 extra to have 2 more guys come out and move the piano. The two movers said that they were never sent out to piano jobs and that their boss didn't let them know. When I called Tom, the owner, he was completely unprofessional and basically told me that I could either pay the 2 extra guys $50 under the table or that he would charge me $80, even though he did recall that I had informed him of the piano in the first place. My bill ended up being twice as much as I was originally quoted. Please think twice before ever using Action Moving!
Pros: semi-friendly, didn't damage our furniture
Cons: bad customer service, dishonest

The movers were friendly and pleasant, however, one of them clearly had no care for quality of his job by the way he jammed my solid wood office desk into the elevator. One corner of my desk was damaged when one of the movers fell on my front walk, but I was compensated the travel time it would take them to return to their truck yard. The mover who fell felt genuinely sorry for the mistake. Fair enough. However, they still tried to take advantage of me. The reason I give them a poor review is because I was overcharged. I was charged for 45 min travel time for the movers to go from their truck yard in Shoreline to my office by Gasworks Park ... on a Sunday morning - by my own driving, as well as checking with Map Quest, Yahool Maps and Google Maps, all agree it is 8.8 miles with an average drive time being 15 minutes. When I contacted the company about this, the man became very passive aggressive and verbally hostile. He stated that taking my job didn't even cover the cost of the truck or gas, that he didn't even make a profit off of me, but he would still cut me a check for 15 minutes. Clearly, I was over charged by 30 minutes. As of today the refund check has not arrived. I was willing to work this out with a small refund of the over charge - mistakes happen. However, given the owners attitude, lack of social skills and complete inability to act like a civilized human being, I have filed a complaint with the appropriate state offices. People like this should not be doing business with the public. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - if you have to pay a few dollars more to a different company, be assured you will most likely be paying for better, more reliable customer service from a company that you can count on. The true measure of a company is their ability (or inability) to resolve customer service issues. Clearly this one failed miserably.
Pros: movers were friendly
Cons: they charge for travel time to and from the job; they significantly over charge for that time; movers were late; owner is beyond rude; poor businessman; poor business practices

I don't like their service. Recently I moved from a condo to a new place. They sent 2 guys to my places. I have exactly the same furnitures as I just moved in to that condo. It took my previous moving company only 2 hours with 2 people while action moving company spend almost 4 hours to finish the moving !! In both cases, the moving distance is less than 2 miles. They are very slow and even broke some of my stuff. I will never use them again.

BEWARE!!! We had scheduled a move three weeks in advance (with down payment) & they called the day of to inform us they could'nt make it. With all the moving companies out there be cautious with Action Moving.
Pros: N/A
Cons: Poor ownership & location
