Sushi nightmare
by JaneHudson
If only I had simply put a box in a Safeway shopping cart and hauled over to the fish case and asked the butcher to cut off some scraps that were past "use by date" and arrange them on my box it would have been a much better experience that walking through the door at I Love Sushi. But if you like "pet grade" tired old fish you WILL love their cut of raw fish. Just glad we did not order the fugu. And you have to pay to park.
- Pros: I did not get parasites that I know of, yet!
- Cons: The sushi, the service, the setting, and the general filth.
Bone-In Sushi....a Seattle First - Yikes!
by BlancheHudson
July 4, 2009, first time at ILS. Upon entering the restaurant the aesthetics reminded me of a cross between a low-cost nursing home dining room and an old decrepit mobile home. There were very few patrons. Undeterred, based on reviews, we sat at the sushi bar and ordered. I then went to the men's room to wash my hands...the stench of old urine hung heavily in the air like a fetid wet blanket. The walls were covered in graffiti the likes of "If you want a _ _ _ _ _ _ _ call xxx-xxxx". This is something one might expect to find in a Detroit Greyhound bus station restroom - not a restaurant serving RAW FISH. The sushi we ordered was poorly crafted by a sushi chef that seemed to be a few bricks shy. In fact, he needed to be reminded of parts of the order that were missing. Towards the end of our meal four pieces of unordered sushi were placed on our trays. We assumed they were gratis - perhaps as an apology for the poor service. We each found bones in these, unfortunately only after they pierced the roofs of our mouths. Then the bill came. We were charged an additional $11 for the unordered sushi. We will not be back.
- Pros: Trip to hospital afterwards was not necessary
- Cons: Atmosphere and Food
Overrated!
by SearchingforGreatSandwich
We visited here for dinner on a Friday night recently. The service was friendly and professional. The food was not high quality. They used low-quality fish and too much MAYONNAISE.
The building and space was not well kept and very outdated- it looks like the owners hadn't put any money into it since the mid-1990's. OH, and the lighting was terrible.
We will not go back and wouldn't recommend.
- Pros: Wide Selection of Sushi rolls
- Cons: Not high quality rolls
Not worth it...at all.
by michaelsn
Meals are what I call "Mini" portions. I spent $15 bucks on a bento box and got $6 worth of food. The chicken was cold and mostly fat...and it tasted like a chicken breast from Safeway that was just cooked up. This was not teriyaki chicken...it was chewy, fatty chicken with some sprinked soy sauce. The sushi was not good, and was mostly rice.
Overrall, it was not a good use of lunch money. I'll stick with the good ones from now on.
- Pros: Location
- Cons: Everything
You don?t get what you pay for!
by colakola
Have you ever ordered a pricey meal expecting to indulge in every drop you pay for, and when it comes out, there?s barely anything on the plate?! Well that?s I Love Sushi for ya! I ordered the bento special for lunch, paid almost $20 and got a few pieces of average tasting sushi to go along with a few pieces of chewy teriyaki, cold miso soup and salad! Defiantly a waste of money when I could have gone to another place, spent less money and got more food. When it comes down to it, this place is overpriced with only average food to offer.
- Pros: When dining, you have a nice view of Lake Union!
- Cons: You have to pay for parking, it's a small place, the food is below average.
Old Fish.
by mooneyja
At least thats what it tasted like. I moved to Seattle in August and have yet to find a good sushi place other than Umi, which is quite pricey. I tried I Love Sushi the other night, hoping for the best, and got a cold eel roll and one of the worst spicy tuna rolls of my life. I took one bite, and threw the rest away. I highly recommend finding a different sushi place. Tuna should be pink, not grey.
Nothing special

over priced for such a simple tasting food, wouldn't go back. Nothing wrong with the restaurant but everything was way too average for me to make it a favorite or to refer someone there.
- Cons: Got to pay for parking
Best overall sushi in Seattle
by golito
This place is not fancy, but the sushi is better and higher quality than anywhere else in Seattle. The location is nice especially the outside seatting on a sunny summer day. We have probably been here 20 times and keep coming back!

Lost it's Japanese authenticity
by jrpenguin
Maybe it's just the Lake Bellevue 3rd restaurant but I Love Sushi has lost it's Japanese authenticity!
The quality of the sushi was very disappointing. The menu is uncreative & americanized. The Decor was sad looking and poor. Our service was OK, the staff tried to do what they could with what they had. We will NOT return. Again, VERY disappointing.
- Pros: Parking was easy
- Cons: Poor quality Sushi & Sashimi, even with reservations we waited more than 30 minutes
