Good desert
by Mydearsophie at Citysearch
All we tried was the ice cream and fudge or brownie desert which was delicious. Their menu didn't have much to die for but the simple club sandwich I had was good enough.
Mediocre experience - rude staff, slow service
by JJ00JJ at Citysearch
I'd eaten at Matts a few times at the request of others and while the food is nothing special (sometimes good, sometimes overcooked, chicken dry as dry can be). The service has reached a point where the servers are more interested in conversations with each other than talking to customers and when they do, they seem to use only one syllable words, yelled from across the restaurant. Spazzo is 40 feet away with much better service and staff.
- Pros: Convenient location
- Cons: Mediocre food, rude staff, slow service
Awesome Happy Hour! Now a Ladies Night
by relaxinginredmond at Citysearch
Matts' has always been the place that i go for happy hour. Luckily I went in just last Saturday and they are doing an all night Ladies Night. My girlfriends and I were pretty jazzed, not only did we get to try their cocktails at a steal but the energy in there is always fun. Our cocktailer was a blast and made sure that we had a great time. I'll be back...again and again!
- Pros: Great value and the staff is fun
- Cons: Where are the single men?
great food

Matt's is one of my favorite restaurants. I love the Argentina Street Tacos. Are they authentic? I have no idea but the beef is combined with just the right amount of vegetables on a crispy shell. With pico de gallo and quac. Yum! I've also had the paella, the petrole sole, the seared ahi and enjoyed them all. My husband likes the prime rib and has always had good service in regards to his request to change his order if there isn't any rare available. My daughter loves the kid's salmon and garlic mashed. So much so that I never get the hoped for bite.
- Pros: great food
- Cons: it's busy
Absolutely Wonderful Food and Service
by YorDreamMuse at Citysearch
I have eaten there several times. I have always had wonderful service. The food is fabulous. The oysters are very fresh and delicious. I have also gone to the mother's day brunch and it is yummy! Great variety of food and they even gave away potted plants to all the mothers. I love Matt's Oyster house
- Pros: Great Service, Great Atmosphere
- Cons: Not the most kid friendly menu
Awful service
by rmisbell at Citysearch
I have given this place several chances as a place for us to go for happy hour and have been disappointed every time. The service is awful and the drinks are weak and over priced. Next time a big group of us goes out for hapy hour it will definitely not be at Matt's.
- Pros: Nothing
- Cons: awful, rude service
Excellent Food, Oysters, Outstanding Customer Service, BEST Happy Hour
by myrtle143 at Citysearch
This is my favorite restaurant on the Eastside. I love the warm, enchanting ambience. The food is always amazing. I especially love some of their specialties like the Prawn and Avocado Pizza, Ahi, great and fresh seafood entrees, and their desserts are second to none. The service is always exceptional and friendly with staff always satisfying my special requests. And, where else can you get a wide selection of fresh shucked oysters? Beside all this, the happy hour is exceptional offering nearly half off their great selection of appetizers and dollar off most drinks!! Will keep coming back!
- Pros: Wonderful Food, Excellent Service, Oysters, Perfect Happy Hour
Delicious, delicious, yum!

What a great place! The Rockefeller style oysters are to drool over, the Paella has a nice American spin on this Mediterranean classic and the Mahi-Mahi is yum! Try the pan-fried oysters and also the prawns. They go out of their way to satisfy the customer... so don't hesitate to ask for this or that adjustment on the menu. The wine selection isn't all that great - but not awful either. It's on my list of places to visit regularly.
- Pros: service, ambiance, food
- Cons: N/A
Lackluster Service and DIning Experience
by astutecritic at Citysearch
Drawn to the restaurant by the outdoor seating on a sunny day, I expected at least an adequate meal from a restaurant in this price range. The only enjoyable part of the meal turned out to be sitting outside. The service was slow and the wait staff pretty apathetic, it took a long time just to get the bread for the table, not to mention the meal, or the check. The chicken in my chicken sandwich (~10 dollars) took up about 1/3 of the bun and was accompanied by room-temperature flavorless skinny fries. I could have spent 2 dollars and had a much more fulfilling and tasty meal at Red Robin. Hope this helps in your decision-making!
- Pros: Outdoor Seating
- Cons: Food
Hearty meals, a hopping bar and a menu for oyster aficionados draw an after-work crowd.

In Short
Golden walls trimmed in copper highlight cozy couples in plush red booths, while an open kitchen maintains an ambiance of casual elegance. Generous portions of rotisserie, like salt and pepper chicken and prime rib arrive wood-fired to perfection, along with fresh halibut, prawns and scallops served seared and Rockefeller-style. A craving for oysters keeps the bar full, as local employees chatter above busily shucking chefs.
