I loved this place and eat here often the apple crisp is to die for made fresh every day. I love the mac and cheese the have a juke box and a room with pool dowstairs. I love to go there for games because they have a screen that is 16' wide

Pros: good food

Cons: they get really busy and sometimes you have to stand up or not get a table

Expensive. Had better chicken and ribs at my local grocery store for far less money. Peppery washed out taste.

Pros: Very expensive food very cheap ambience.

Cons: parking, opens just a few hours a day strange place unconfortable seating.

I agree they make you pay before you get the food because you wouldn't want to pay after trying it. Very expensive and ugly place. You wouldn't want to sit there and eat. I imagine this is how the king county jail lunch room looks like. You wouldn't want to take the food and eat it elsewhere because the food is no good. Very expensive on top of it. You can have a great meal at a nice restaurant for far less money. Save and eat well, eat somewhere else.

Pros: none

Cons: expensive, bad food

My boyfriend and I read lots of great reviews of this place and headed over to satisfy a BBQ craving. The first thing to know is that you'll have to pay when you place your order - their clientele has a tendency to run out on the check! We ordered a sampler of all the "goodies" - ribs, chicken and catfish + two sides - Mac salad and greens. The ribs were okay but nothing special. The chicken was horrible - dry and almost inedible. The catfish had a great crispy outside but no taste at all! I wasn't really even sure there was any fish in there. The sides were bland - the runniest mac salad I've ever seen (do they pour milk over it or something?) and the greens were just that, greens. No ham hocks or any other descernable flavor that makes greens so good. In all, it was a completely wasted trip and we will never return. Don't waste your time, money or tastebuds with this one!

Pros: NONE

Cons: Bad food, Weird patrons

After reading the reviews of this restaurant 2 weeks ago, my husband and I couldn't wait to try the food on our upcoming trip to Seattle!! We were SOOOO disappointed! Both the ribs and chicken tasted like they were pickled instead of bbq, the pasta salad had one flavor, PEPPER, and my hubby is a pepper lover! Their cole slaw and cornbread were both bland. Our daughter didn't care for the the fried chicken ( in all fairness, I thought it was very good) she did however enjoy the mac and cheese. We will not waste our time or money again!

Cons: terrible parking, clean own table

I have been to the Steel Pig BBQ over a dozen times in the last three years. Each experience has delivered tender, tangy ribs and yummy sides (especially the mac & cheese and cole slaw). I would recommend this place to anyone interested in a satisfying and scrumptous meal at a reasonable price.

Some friends decided to get some carryout from Steel Pig on a recent warm Friday night. We all ordered ribs and had the collard greens, mac & cheese, mac salad and slaw as sides. We were all surprised that the ribs seemed underdone for barbeque. They were unbelievable fatty with lots of gristle. The fact they were underdone left the fat in huge gluey globs attached to the meat, rather than cooking down enough so it could be easily removed. The primary ingredients in the sauce seemed to be pickling spices and sugar, which we all found to be an unpleasant combination on ribs. We had 4 large orders, and none of us finished even one rib. This barbeque was WAY below average and the good quality side dishes couldn't make up for the the poor quailty of the ribs.

What everyone says about this place is true. Steel Pig BBQ is the best around. The place up on Aurora looks like nothing special from the outside, but the inside is clean, completely smoke free, well lit and packed with people enjoying the catfish, chicken, ribs, cornbread, beans and rice, sweet potato pie, etc. Great value. The help is super friendly and everything is made to order. The collard Greens were the best I've ever had. Melt in your mouth tender and not bitter at all. Fabulous place. Don't miss it!

Pros: Great food!, Clean and smoke free, Great Service

Absolutely the best bbq in Seattle. Their ribs have the legendary "smoke line" which all honest-to-goodness bbqers through out the nation strive for. The meat is incredibly tender, too. The pulled pork is spectacular. BBQ sauce is very territorial and The Steel Pig follows the Carolina version ( thin and VERY sweet ) which is not my preference.

Pros: Best bbq in Seattle, Fairly priced., Quick service.

The place is humble looking with good jazz sounds and nice pictures, however, the food is to die for. The ribs are great, the chick wings are great, and the pulled pork sandwich is out of this world with the clear North Carolina style or BBQ sauce. The service is the best we have had at any restaurant and the staff aims to please. Do not pass up on the Sweet Potato Pie when you finish. It is worth it even if you fill up on the BBQ. The price is great as well with three people easily getting fed with a feast for under $30.

Pros: Great BBQ food, Great Service, Great price

Cons: , No AC , No fancy tables
