I like The Islander. The first time we went, we sat on the patio and stared at the water, which is probably why we did not notice the service was a bit slow. Considering the marathon the server has to run from the patio to the kitchen, it really is not a big deal. Second time we sat in the dining room, which is spacious and comfortable. The food eclipses the complaints about service. The poki or chili squid appetizers are amazing, and the scallops, prawn and broccoli sautee was worth the gamble; the scallops were perfect. My boyfriend was not impressed with his General Tso's chicken, but overall, if I had guests I would take them here; it is inexpensive considering it is in the downtown core. Also, the suishi is quite good.
Pros: Food, atmosphere, patio
Cons: Patio sometimes closed
