Viceroy, I like you a lot and I know a bit of change from time to time keeps things fresh...but, how do I say this...your new artwork hates eyes, *my* eyes at least. You do not have gallery white walls, Viceroy, nor to you have primary colored lucite chairs or chandeliers made of paperclips or chenille covered beanbags, so why the Op Art? Viceroy, you are this chess den in the country house of that creepy Franco-Russian playwright type of sultry...Just be yourself; everyone wants to get with you. Also, when you wear your tables all high on one side like that and couches all low on the other, it makes you look a little lopsided. It had to be said.

Remember the show Cheers? The bar where everybody knew your name? Viceroy appears to be the Seattle incarnation...A fun, friendly bar that appears to draw lots of regulars. Sitting at the bar and sipping a drink while waiting for a friend to join me, I was impressed by how many times the staff actually greeted customers by name. I can see why people would keep coming back...the service is friendly, seating is comfortable, and the drinks are tasty. Try their cucumber cocktail...refreshing. Viceroy has the right idea...
Pros: Service, Unique cocktails
Cons: Parking

Amy German is without a doubt the sexiest bartender alive today. She looks great, is utterly charming, serves the punters promptly with a smile and just oozes sexiness. I'm from London and met Amy a mere twice in The West End, Roatan, Honduras, in '99. So what do I know? Well, I know for one thing that I'd not hesitate to visit this here bar for a dose of possibly the coolest vibration around were I ever in Seattle. Yet if Amy wasn't there, I'd be gutted. You, my friend, should check it out. All the best Amy, Joel x
Pros: Amy German

let me start by saying i'm one of the few who don't like linda's other bars. "lindas" on capitol hill and "king's hardware" are too easily a place for children to join forces in the army of drunken weekend displays of intentional retardation of the social skills. how then, did she come up with such a refined atmosphere with elegant furnishings and an exceptional selection of fine beverages, find a couple of really great bartenders, and put it all together in a great location? who knows... but i adore this bar. go there for happy hour, have a few then find something to eat at any of the great restaurants within sight of the viceroy's front door. then go back to the viceroy and enjoy the week night scene, if you get too drunk, or find a one-night-stand buddy, ask your bartender how to get to the ace hotel.
Pros: very good spot for a date, or a whole party.
Cons: can get too crowded.

i know we'd been drinking all night, but usually you can taste the liquor in your drink.... this place never lets me down as far as the crowd goes...good people, i love just sitting on the couches inside.

I've been going to the Viceroy on Sunday nights the past few weeks and I'm loving it. Unlike Fridays and Saturdays, Sundays have the relaxed lounge feel the Viceroy is so great at. The DJ is amazing--I love the blend of classic funk and soul and modern rap. James (the bartender) definitely knows how to pour. I highly recommend it for your weekend windown.
Pros: Ambience, Live Music, Great Drinks, Happening Crowd

So many things about this place are so right....warm, intimate ambience, attentive service, tasty cocktails.... the Viceroy would be the perfect spot to gather for an evening of drinks and good conversation...unfortunately the LOUD music makes this more than a little difficult. My friends and I stopped by on a Wednesday night. The DJ was playing fun music but it was so loud that we were forced to yell to maintain conversation. The Viceroy has a great lounge-like ambience, but the blaring music seems a contradiction to the whole "lounge" concept....
Pros: ambience, service
Cons: loud music, parking

Okay, Viceroy has decent drinks, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting, but I have to say it's a typical Seattle nightspot. My wife and I went here after Sushi as Shiro's for a drink on a Friday night and Viceroy was filled to capacity with seriously ugly people. And by ugly, I mean women that might have been attractive but were wearing flannel, big loose jeans, stocking caps, etc. etc. Seattle is the only city in the U.S. where women think dressing up to go out for cocktails is a cotton hoodie and Converse All-Stars. Ugh. See and be seen? Only if you want to see skids and lumberjacks.
Pros: Cute waitresses
Cons: Attracts the flannel and Doc Martens crowd

A little loud, but otherwise a great time. I heard good things about this spot and checked it out for the first time last Saturday with some friends. Great drinks, cool furniture, and our waitress was awesome. Just an all around good vibe.

I loved this place. It was really romantic with comfy leather benches to cuddle on, dim lighting, and funky decor. Our waitress was really fun and dedicated to making our experience pleasant. The only problem was they didn't have the liquor for the first couple of drinks I ordered, so no fun drinks : ( however the drink i did end up ordering was amazing. I loved the cute little cups of goldfish set out on the tables.
Pros: service, ambiance, music
Cons: limited drink variety
