Do you like fashion and style that brings out the individual in you? Then Ian is the atelier for you. As you browse, you'll find your basic and trendy must haves. But then you'll find a brand and style that you would swear was created just for you! I can't tell you about my favorite brands I've found there, because I still believe they were created just for me! Also, I love the fact that they are doggy friendly, though I don't think they would appreciate having an overly slobbery large dog drueling on the clothes. I frequent the Fremont store, and customer service has always been honest and genuine without being intoxicating or causing nausea. Let's face it, if you like to use fashion retail customer service for ego stimulation or flattery, then you might as well not even wear clothes. Maybe then you'll understand the real reason you're needing ego stimulation! So for all of you fashionites seeking individual style, I suggest you get your booty over to Ian before your brand disappears!

Pros: Indvidual style, genuine customer service

Cons: Would like to see more of Ian's picks for the feet and privates!

This store is da bomb! I'm such a typical guy and finicky shopper, I never find anything I really like...until I wandered into Ian in Fremont. Unbelievale! This store had many unique brands I never heard of before. (One brand had cool clothes tags that plant trees if you bury them. Now, that's special. I'm super into Eco-Friendly products.) I was greated with all smiles by all three staff members. The female clerk was totally on it and showed me all the male clothes that she thought might suit me well. She nailed my style exactly. I ended up purchasing a whole outfit of her suggestions. My girlfriend found some rad stuff for herself, too. The manager (I think it was Ian himself) rang me up. We all chatted for a bit about the neighborhood and how it's changing a bit (for the better, I think). I just read a review by some asians of this store that I can't believe is right. They eluded that this Ian staff was dismissive to them since they were asian or something. Well, I'm half vietnamese and my girlfriend is full and we both got the super-royal treatment at this store. Double-Shocker-High-Fives all around!!! I will mos-def shop there again. Booyah Shakah!

over the holiday weekend, my sons, my father and i went into fremont for a haircut. while waiting, we stopped into ian to check out the sale. the staff was great! i am a bigger guy and they helped me find the right size in some much needed button-downs. the young lady that worked there, spoke to my dad in spanish! crazy! i never would have expected someone to know spanish in fremont of all places. i would definitely say that, even though i don't shop often, i will come back to ian. ps...i gave them four stars because i'm hoping next time they have some 38's or 40's so that i can get a pair of g-star jeans.

IAN is a horrible store, it promotes high-end designer denim, jackets and clothing. It is the STAFF that is dissapointing, I went to IAN today with my twin brother and his GF. We are all in our mid-20's, Asian Ethnicity, holding College Degrees, well established within our professions, and fairly well off. The sales associate did not greet us when we walked into the store; however, about 5 minutes later a white couple walked in and were greeted immediately by the sales clerk. I did not know at first if it was a minor oversight by the sales clerk; I simply took note of it and kept it in the back of my mind. A few minutes later I asked if they carried a certain brand; the same sales clerk that did not greet us looked over at me with a disgusted look and stated that they did not carry it as if I was asking a foolish question. This was when my shopping experience at Ian started to aggrivate me. A few minutes later, my brother's GF asked if they had a smaller size in a certain jacket; the same sales clerk looked over at her; rolled her eyes and said that there was nothing, not even bothering to actually look at the jacket or to check if there was any in the back or at their other store on Capital Hill. We eventually did find a jacket that we liked; not to let one sales clerk destroy our shopping experience, we purchased the jacket; however, while we were purchasing the jacket, my brother stated to a different sales clerk that we were treated very rudely by the female sales clerk. That sales clerk simply looked over at my brother and knodded, no apology or anything. My twin and I have both worked in retail before and this attitude of theirs suprised us. TO destroy any ideas that maybe we were not "up to par" with the store, we were both wearing G-Star apparel, which is what the store sells. The IAN store is simply overrated with a horrible staff that thinks themselves higher then their customers. I highly suggest that you DO NOT SHOP there.

It's frustrating to me when high-end retail staff are rude and unknowledgeable. I'd always had great experiences shopping at the ian store on capital hill, so I decided to visit the new Fremont location. They had two fun necklaces in a case, one gold color, and one silver. When asked what kind of metal they were made from, the associate replied "gold and silver". When I asked for more detail, plating, metal quality etc. she said they "must be high quality because they are $200 each". I left the jewelry and decided to peruse the Diesel jean selection. I recalled a pair of Diesel jeans I'd tried on at the Diesel Store at the Harbour City Mall in Hong Kong. When I again asked the girl if she had this particular jean, she responded with "You saw them in China? Well then they're fakes". I assured her that they were NOT fakes, and she rudely told me "Well then you should have got 'em when you saw 'em." I couldn't believe it. ian does not carry any brand that you couldn't find anywhere else in Seattle. In fact, I suggest you take your business to a store that actually WANTS customers. This was the most unsettling shopping experience I've had in a long time. If you'd like fun, unique, boutique shopping, I suggest you simply walk across the street. The employees of those shops were more than happy to help.

Pros: Cute atmosphere

Cons: Rude Staff

The problem with shopping online is sizing and exact color representations. Nevertheless, for years in Seattle I have had to factor in a certain percentage of online clothes shopping to balance out Macy's and ..... well, Old Navy? Ians is a place where you WILL find truly stylish clothes that are worth their tag price and aren't on every block. The sense of individuality is important. For your money, the value point is higher than Urban Outfitter and the workers are much less snooty than any other hipster-hangout. They also have one of the best selection for men's coats in the whole area.

Pros: quality of clothing, great selection, stylish without being mainstream

Cons: not cheap

Living in San Francisco, I have meet many people who speak very highly about Ian's. Their reputation is very positive and widely known. I have yet to hear any negative comments about Ian's. This store is a dream for many living in Seattle. Thank you Ian. Keep it up !

I'm so glad Ian was able to open a new location.... It shows that Seattle may have woken up enough to realize that we dont have to defer to Northface when going out for cocktails. The only thing I'm sad about is that it's no secret anymore. They allways let me know when they get a new shipment of my favorite designer, and promtly call when there is a sale I would care about. This is the only place to shop for Stylish mens clothes if you want anything more avant-gard than Paul Smith.

Pros: good buyers, cool clothes, nice staff
