Best place of the night!

I was out in Seattle celebrating my birthday, and we had tried a few different places first, but they weren't very "happenin" for a Saturday night. The last place we went to was Cowgirls! When we got there around 11:30pm, I could tell it was really crowded, and we had to wait in line outside for about 5 minutes... it was SO worth it!! No cover for me and my girls, my boyfriend had to pay $7.. Not bad though! They played great music, we danced on tables, watched people ride the bul. I didn't ride the bul that night, but it looked like so much fun, I'll have to next time I go. The bartenders were very nice, and made amazing drinks! The girls dancing on the bar, very beautiful.. skimpy clothes, but that's what expected. (So if you don't like it, then don't go!) It was so much fun, and I am definitely going back!

It's really sad there are a bunch of bad reviews on here.... Although, it seems like the negative reviews are pretty much all from guys, maybe who came in with poor attitudes in the first place? I thought the bouncers were very nice, and yes, I did see them throw (literally throw) two guys out of Cowgirls, but in my opinion it was for very good reasons! The first guy was groping every girl he could reach, and the second guy was drunk and getting in peoples faces. So I think the bouncers have good heads on their shoulders, and if you're getting "bullied" by them, maybe watch yourself, and you'll be fine.

VERY fun place! I love it!

really not the happiest place on earth...

We went to cowgirls for the beginning of a bachelorette party and I couldn't believe how rudely we were treated by the men of this establishment. I'm sure they need mean-looking guys to carry-out promoting safety, but it just was overdone and made us want to leave really quickly. We were not drunk or rowdy since we had just started the night, just excited. I had called earlier to ask about bachelorette parties and if I should inform them one was coming, and the guy on the phone was abrupt but I didn't take that personally. I guess that should have been our clue...

I was informed that Cowgirls would make the bachelorette ride the mechanical-bull and maybe dance on the bar so I put it on the list, I mean how would that not sound fun to make a bride-to-be to?

Ok, so we get there and after getting our first (and only) round of drinks we decide to make the bride ride the mechanical-bull. The operator tells her point blank that he will be mean to us if we don't tip him well. Well no one heard this until her ride was over. He was nice to her and the ride went slow, and I think she kind of had fun doing that. I went up next and tipped $3. Apparently that wasn't enough because he literally stared me down and would not tell me what to do. I thought I was being really nice about it despite this but he kept glaring at me as I was going to get on and wouldn't say a single word. I kept trying to ask if this is what I was supposed to do-being my first time, if I was sitting on it correctly and NOTHING out of him but a seriously intense glare. Well, let's just put it this way, I was on for 2 seconds, he put it on full throttle and threw me off.

I'm pretty sure I could have taken being thrown off anyway if it wasn't for the fact that he truly did it because I didn't tip him enough. Actually I figured I'd be thrown off regardless because I just have no balance. The mechanical-bull-riding is supposed to be free there? So it really didn't make any sense for him to be such an a-hole. When I heard about the tipping thing I instantly brought out $5 and handed it to him as the next girl approached the mechanical-bull. The bride told me to look him straight in the eye as I gave it to him... he ended up going easy on her. So really a minimum $5 tip to ride the mechanical-bull...? complete BS considering all that guy has to do is press some buttons really.

After that everyone got just a really annoyed feeling with the place, and no one else wanted to ride the mechanical-bull, we didn't even stay to try and get the bride to dance on the bar. AND we did NOT order any more drinks- so they lost a good amount of business from a group of 10 girls ready to get drunk.

He wasn't the only one who exhibited rudeness out of the 'bouncers' or steroid-enraged hammerheads, but he was definitely the worst. In my opinion they need to smash that guys ego-trip.

I'll finish by saying that the bartender who made all of our drinks was really nice/fun. She was patient with our big group and even went as far as suggesting random drinks that weren't on their specialty list. Granted we were there fairly early so she wasn't too busy. All of the girls were nice about us having a bachelorette party there, but the guys just weren't. I hope management will work to remedy this, but I doubt it, and thus will not be going back.

This being said I wouldn't recommend this place for a bachelorette party, but do go if you want a good drink and are already plastered enough to not remember being treated like 'poo' the next day. :)

A brithday party

Me an my husband and a copule of friend went there for my husband 21st brithday there. we had fun. the girls were nice and the drinks were ok.

I tried it not crowded... Still lame

Cowgirls is probably great if you're on a date with a trashy girl trying to be hip or so drunk that it is your best chance at seeing extra cleavage. Some of the previous positive reviews are obviously from the staff and should be discounted.

The random girls on the bar have the same vacant look as strippers without the follow through. The bouncers have never been rude to me personally but they act like they are itching for confrontation. I work across the street and they look at anyone walking by like they are going to be trouble. Even though it is advertised as a fun loving trashy joint, the early evening bartenders act like they are to good for it.

I SAW ANKLE!!!

I hate Portland but at least there are bars where you can watch the game while being surrounded by half clothed girls. You can also skip the drive by just going to the U District if you want to go to a frat party. The girls have gotten so much attention for dancing around that they think they are pretty enough to have bad attitudes. When going to the bar I recommend saying the following: "I'm not flirting I just want a beer"

Rude bouncers with attitude

The bouncers at Cowgirls are nasty. They look for reasons to harass you, and get physical very quickly. After being harassed by the bouncers, I stayed because I was with friends, but I was on guard the whole time I was there and did not enjoy my experience. I thought maybe this was a one-time bad night, and gave them a second try. Similar experience, but the punishment was only verbal this time. I strongly recommend anyone looking for a good time to stay away from this place.

The guy who posted below must have been kicked out by security, and is obviously bitter! Go ahead buddy...write a bad review. Like its their fault that you can't hold your booze! Cowgirls is great....but anyone with an attitude like the one below, stay away, the bartenders will eat you alive.

Avoid

It is a wonder this place is still in business. Yes, the girls dance on the bar but most are fuglier than any strip club. I watched one girl get up on the bar while a guy took pictures up her skirt (nothing on) but she was really disgusting to look at. I was surprised the bouncers sat back and did nothing. Oh, did I mention this place is a sausagefest? If there are any women in this bar, they are fat chicks from the southend that probably stumbled over from Tiki Bobs. This club is the worst of the Pioneer Square scene. Avoid if you are a straight guy.

Great service, great crowd

One of the best bars I?ve ever been to. The girls dancing on the bar were extremely hot, and they give the place a great atmosphere. The drinks were pricey but good and the service at the bar was outstanding. I?m a good tipper, but even considering that, the gorgeous bartender seemed to be able to read my mind. She wasn?t overly friendly, but very fast and professional....just the way I like it.

The bar has a strong "coyote ugly" theme, but it?s much less produced and choreographed than at Coyote Ugly. (no bar chick playing the "tough girl" part on stage). Female guests are allowed and invited to dance on the bar, and some of the best looking girls up there were guests. Nobody used the mechanicalbull while I was there and it wasn?t a country crowd at all.

I was there on a Saturday night and the crowd was outstanding. Male and female numbers were about even. It was a fairly good mix of 20 something partyers and 30 something business types, all having a great time. I was a lone 30?s male on business and I ended up hanging out with a frat guy with tattoos, a marine in uniform, a black couple attending the Seahawks game, and an attractive 40 year old and her two beautiful daughters; certainly one of the most mixed groups I?ve ever been in. It was packed enough to be fun but not too crowded, and the mostly classic rock music mix was great to dance to. I was having such a great time that I was really shocked when 2am rolled around and the place closed.

I will definitely be going back.
