If you're looking for authentic BBQ in Seattle, Pig Iron is by far the place for it. The atmosphere is hip, the staff is friendly, and the food is the best! YUM! The Pig Iron "Rockabilly" BBQ is the best place to spend a lunch hour. If you work near by, you gotta stop in. The food is to die for, the service is great, and the hotrods parked outside by the patrons are as good as any carshow~
Pros: Food, rare menu items, Southern Cooking, atmosphere
Cons: None

Let me state it plainly: I *love* this restaurant. The food is fantastic, the service is prompt, and not without true "southern" hospitality. My personal faves are the babybacks, and the pulled pork sandwich. They come with a choice of sides (do NOT miss the spinach casserole!) and sauces -- all with great flavor, but not overpowering. Do yourself a favor - get down to Pig Iron for some tasty food, great drinks, and stellar service. Try it once, and you'll end up making it a monthly (weekly? daily?) sojourn to South Seattle.
Pros: Food, service, price
Cons: Parking during the lunch rush

I was looking forward to trying this place and what a let down. Chopped brisket? Pulled Pork with no flavor served at room temperature. The sides are lacking in choice and flavor! Disgusting. People in this city don't know what real barbecue is! I am amazed that this place got any recognition as "Editors Choice".

Alright folks, they're open for dinner now, you should do what you can to get down to SODO and get some of the best damn BBQ in Seattle. I've been to Pig Iron several times and have never been disappointed by the great food or the friendly service. Their sweet tea is fantastic and their other drinks are just as delicious! They can be pretty busy during the lunch hour, so be willing to wait for a table or just pick up something to go. Also, you can buy their sauces to take home just in case you can't go as often as you would like. Careful, this place can be highly addictive!
Pros: great service, great food, amazingly generous portions
Cons: parking can be difficult at lunch time

Do not miss out on their amazing brisket! After trying most of their meats the brisket is by far the best! The sweet potato fries are great and they have a fun selection of unusual sodas. Kinda of a quirky offbeat but very casual and friendly.

Go for the plates! Brisket, pulled pork - you can't go wrong. The jalapeno spinach casserole and sweet potato fries are unbelievably good. They'll even make the kiddies a grilled cheese sandwich if they aren't into BBQ. Wash it all down with delicious sweet tea, a yummy cherry limeade, or a $1 Old Milwaukee! Only problem I've found is they aren't open late enough or on weekends. They are working on extending their hours though and I can't wait!
Pros: Food, Service, Ambience
Cons: Hours

This is a wonderful BBQ offering honey mustard as well as a spicy and regular tomato sauce...mmm, interesting sides like sweet potatoe fries and spinach. Great place for those of you that work in the area, but disappointing to the rest of us because their hours are 11-4pm Mon-Friday.
Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Food
Cons: Hours
