Great Indoor-Outdoor Lounge
by jt5472 at Citysearch
Nectar is a great place to see live music, with amazing viewpoints and top notch indie hip-hop, reggae, and roots options. I've seen The Grouch and Eek-a-Mouse and both times had a great experience with the sound, and crowd (which generally skews younger and more casual). The best feature is the sliding door that opens up to the patio which allows concert-goers to see the live acts from both inside and out. When the weather permits, there is no better place to enjoy the live music experience. The decor is minimalist and their is plentiful seating, but for the most part people are grooving to the music and wouldn't think of sitting down.
Best place to see live bands!

You won't find a better place in Seattle to see live music...every seat in the house is prime! They have a great mix of live bands and funky DJ's. Do yourself a favor and check out Nectar!
Worst customer service
by jarea_meh17 at Citysearch
Server didn't give us our change and when we went back to ask for a box she had the nerve to give us attitude and talk back. What she didn't know was that we hadn't finished ordering and hadn't tipped her yet. Eat before entering and only order drinks from the bar. There is a good restuarant called Brauers across the street from Nectar; heading West.
- Cons: service
getting better all the time

they are starting to get better music acts---seattle needs to support this bar---great pool table upstairs...good vibe of the place...outdoor deck is good...they get a lot of hot girls...one of the better places in seattle
This fresh Fremont club buzzes with a diverse lineup of live music.

The Scene
While DJs and house are on the schedule, the music leans toward well-known bands playing world music, free jazz, trip-hop and funk. The sound is loud and clear, and the spacious stage can accommodate larger acts. In the warmer weather, the two huge garage doors roll up and the party (and the smokers) pour out into the front courtyard.
The Draw
On Friday and Saturdays, the crowd of 20- and 30-somethings may come for the live music, but bands are often simply background sound for the see-and-be-seen set. A balcony offers a pool table and quieter seating for those who want to take a break and eat. The simple bar menu features some real winners, including the oven-roasted sandwiches and the thin-crust pizzas with toppings like Gorgonzola, pine nuts and rosemary.
A lot of potential and some disappointment
by masondw at Citysearch
As with all Fremont music venues, you are running the risk of surrounding yourselves with two specific kinds of pretension: 1) pseudo-hipster types and, 2) frat kids. Nectar has room for both types and also brings in a more Well-Groomed "We're from Queen Anne but came down to catch Reggae band" crowd. All in all, the space is good for small gatherings and has great artwork on display from local artists. The drinks are slow to come when the band is good. The drinks are easy to obtain when the band is no good but, then you're stuck listening to bad music and watching the friends of the band ham it up - much better odds of enjoyment in the summer when the outside can be utilized.
- Pros: good bartenders, great decor
- Cons: crowd attitude and under-par music acts
fav spot but what just happened
by mtbwz at Citysearch
This is my favorite bar and I go here aprox once a week for happy hour and/or a show.
What just happened though with the plastic glasses? Come on!! Drinking Mac & Jacks in plastic isnt the same.
I might have to move my business elsewhere.
What happened last Sunday night!

There was a great hip hop group playing. Must have been hundreds of people there. You couldn't get to the bar for a drink! What's the deal?
Best Club Experience in Years
by rmilliron at Citysearch
Nectar is awesome! I originally went in for Happy Hour and ended up staying till close. The food was great ($5 Pizza, score) and they had a VJ playing just about any video you'd ever want to see and hear (Violent Femmes anyone?). As a live music venue it rivals the Showbox as far as great views and good sound. The loft was cool though I could only check it out for a moment cause there was private party going on, seems to be a great view of the stage. Our server was sassy but sweet and very prompt which seems to be an anomoly these days. The whole experience start to finish was enjoyable and didn't hurt when I saw my tab. Go to Nectar before its so full you can't get in.
- Pros: Food, Service, Music
- Cons: Non Smoking
Don't waste your time
by zoesanne at Citysearch
Don't expect service to be any thing but sub par. The staff is extremely disorganized and totally inept. It took over 1 1/2 hour to get our food after having to have to hunt down a waitperson and we were never able to get her to take a drink order. Had to open a tab at the bar and when closing out was blatently overcharged on my credit card slip. Staff was completely unhelpful and pretty much ignored me instead of dealing with this complaint. Total disappointment.
- Pros: Outdoor Seating
- Cons: Disorganized Staff
