DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! The bouncers and security are ridiculous! I had a flashlight in my face more than 12 times throughout the night. I had only one or two drinks so it had nothing to do with my behavior, they were doing it to everyone at the place! At some points, I was just sitting on a couch talking with a girlfriend and I'd get a flashlight shining in my face coming from across the room. They obviously are now going overboard since they've had so much violence there recently. I would never spend a cover to get harassed like that again! Go to Baltic Room or Ballroom to dance, skip this place!

I would never go back to this place. The bouncers and "security" were extremely rude and confrontational all night, and my friends and I are far from the troublemaking type. Apparently I stood in the wrong place several times, at which point the "security" promptly shined a bright flashlight in my eyes and rudely told me to "get out of the way." Besides the rude employees, the music was terrible techno that left the dancefloor empty. Overall it was a terrible waste of a cover charge. . .my rating would be two thumbs down!

Pros: None

Cons: Rude "security" and bouncers, bad techno music

We went on Friday night. There were three of us. We had two tabs. Both of us who had tabs got ripped off by at least $50 each. (3 Miller lites and 3 well vodkas should not cost $124). The bouncers were rude and the music was awful. Do NOT go here unless you want to be treated poorly and ripped off. It's unfortunate that a place with such potential chooses to operate this way.

This place has a pretty nice club atmosphere for Capital Hill. The interiors are well-designed and there is always a fun and happening vibe in this place. Since it IS Capital Hill, there will always be some quirky people but no one ever bothers you or ruins your evening. Not really a good place to eat, but the drinks are decent enough. The music and atmosphere are the main draw, by far. As for the poor review below mine, I strongly suggest you think twice before respecting the review of someone who mimics the idiolect of a gang-banger and who obviously doesn't have any command of grammar or spelling.

Pros: atmosphere, dancing/music

Cons: parking, neighborhood

I was visiting from LA and came across an article in the Stranger about the War Room night called Sing Sing and decided to check it out. My mind was completely blown! It was packed but not too packed leaving some room for me and my girlfriends to tear it up allllll night. The crowd was made up of hipsters but there were also a lot of just normal people who all seemed to be having the time of their lives. People were stage diving, singing a long to songs, it was like a total circus! So much fun! The music was stuff that you would hear at Dim Mak Tuesday's @ Cinespace in LA or Dance Right @ La Cita with just as fashionable a crowd. I knew there had to be something like this in Seattle but I had yet to find it. I love you Sing Sing!

Pros: Crazy fun dancing, Great music, Great crowd

Cons: It only happens every 1st & 3rd Friday

If you’re straight and like the thump thump music this is probably the place for you. A few of the bar tenders are really awesome. The djs are usually pretty good. The rooftop deck is just the best on a sunny afternoon – especially when it isn’t crowded. If a dj is up there you’ll probably be treated to tragic straight-boy dancing.  It can be a little yuppie, so if that’s a turn off bring your own friends and just enjoy the deck. I haven’t been there on a busy Friday or Saturday night – but during the day/evenings it’s very gay friendly.

Pros: Rooftop deck + Sunny day = beautiful afternoon!

Cons: a little yuppie, kinda straight

I title it, A Multicultural Circus beause everytime I have gone there I have had a different experience. The first time, there were "pretentious seatttlelites" partaking in happy hour on the roof top deck. That same night they were setting up for a lesbian dance. The next time I drove by their were a bunch of seattle's upcoming urban youth waiting in a long line outside. Then I went back again and I saw your typical teva wearing pasty seattle folk. Then I went back again and it was mostly asian crowd boppin to 80's beats. Ive seen every race at the War Room, maybe that why they named in the War Room. Those of you who thought Seattle lacked diversity, well your wrong. Go to the War Room and find out for yourself. But don't forget to check out what is going on during the different nights of the week or you may end up lost in the Circus. I support this place and and you should too so if you would like to help in the struggle to put Seattle on the map put your fist up and head to the War Room.

The War Room always seems to have great nights during the week. The breakdancing night on Monday has awesome music and you can catch the World Champion Massive Monkees from time to time. The Wednesday is a fantastic 80's night where people just let lose, no posing at all. I will say that on busy nights the bathroom is not the place you want to go if you are a woman. Also the secruity doesn't mess around so if you get out of hand stand on the stairs and stop the flow be prepared to hear about. All in all a great club with a roof to take a smoke break on with drinks that are poured correctly and stiff for a totally reasonable price.

Pros: Great Music and Drinks

Cons: Can get to busy

Capitol Hill's hot venue has plenty of potential, thanks to diverse booking, a fabulous deck and clubby, cozy ambience.  See the full editorial review.
