This is sooo cool! Asian food then a latin dance night! Good thing I went friday night. It was cool going for dinner then staying for a little dancing. I loved it! I especially loved that I burned off calories while dancing. Made me want some more of that tasty rice. lol
Pros: Great atmosphere and staff.
Cons: I hate parking in DT Seattle

I have been here more than once and I really like the food. It is less pricey and less pretentious than other nearby restaurants that serve similar dishes, like O'Asia, Wild Ginger and Purple. The sushi bar does an excellant job and the salads and entrees have been uniformly tasty. The owner, a young energetic woman named Hai, always has a nice word for everyone. It is just a very comfortable place to go for a very nice meal.
Pros: The food, the sushi bar, the bar service and the ambience
Cons: crowded some evenings and typical downtown parking issues

We made reservations for 6:15 on Saturday, but really didn't need them. We were there for about 1.5 hours and there were only a few other people, which we could not understand at all. The honey walnut prawns were amazing as was all the other food. We got a couple specailty rolls of which they have a large list. The sushi is fresh and tasted wonderful. The atmosphere is quiet and somewhat dark and could work for a romantic evening. The drink menu with saki mixed drinks was good as well, try the Saki Smash. The service was great. He came by and checked on us often enough and the food came fast. Overall, I will definitey be returning to this place. Would be good for a happy hour I think.

horrible service--do not go here. no servers and only one bartender (who's too busy talking) serve the restaurant. my friends and i waited 15 minutes before we got service and the food is overpriced. the sushi is alright, much better places if you head to belltown

First of all, I didn't know this place had sushi. They should really let the word out, seeing as how there is no sushi in this part of downtown, and that it's actually really damn good. I've been twice now, and will be back soon. The first time I stopped for a drink, and decided to order happy hour food. I had a spicy tuna and a california roll. The spicy tuna seemed pretty standard, the california I noticed was full of real crab meat... for 4 dollars - nice. The second time, i sat at the strange looking sushi bar so I could talk to the chef. He seemed to know a lot about everything, from the dwindling tuna population to the manufacturing of sake to the history of sushi. Some of his answers were pretty long winded, but informative. The place was pretty slow when I went, so I guess he had time. I was told the place recently went through some changes so it hasn't been that busy. That works for me, since I was getting sick of having to wait for good sushi
Pros: Good Sushi, fast service
Cons: pretty empty inside

Had we read some of these reviews, we might not have stopped at Jasmine. I'm not sure what happened to those other people, but our experience was great. The 'martini' was excellent, the appetizers were out before we finished our first drink, my buddy said the sushi was great, and the bartender seemed genuinely interested in hearing us rant about our jobs. The only thing that could be mistaken for bad service was the tongue lashing the bartender gave the drunken idiot at the other end of the bar. Its nice to see someone in Seattle be something other than passive aggressive! Fun place, we'll be back...

Bad service. Below average food. Forgot my appetizer. Brought me the wrong entree. Waited 25 minutes for my beer. The rest of the restaurant was empty and now I know why. This pace will be out of business in due time.

We got into Seattle on Saturday evening to attend an exhibit and did not make arrangements for dinner. Seeing that every downtown Seattle restaurant was packed we decided to try the restaurant that adjoins our hotel, The Jasmine Restaurant and Lounge. What a pleasant surprise! The food was delicious, the service was good and our meals were promptly served The decor was beautiful! The bill was very reasonable. However, we were the only party in the dining room. Curious circumstance for such a well appointed restaurant in such a great city. Go figure.

By far the worst service I have ever experienced. The bar/restaurant was dead-maybe 25 people tops and it took 45 minutes to get a glass of Sprite and a pint of Pilsner Urquell. When, after 25 minutes I approached the bar tender to complain he said "sorry about that", handed me a business card to call the manager, and walked away. He didn't even give me the drinks. Then we got the drinks but the waiter didn't give us change. I honestly think he was trying to keep it because he knew/assumed he would not get a tip. We had to ask for the change on the way out the door. The next day I did call the manager -Hai- and she actually said "you shouldn't get so stressed out, give me a call the next time you come in and we'll give you great service". No appologies, no offers, just that response. Oh and I didn't get to try the food because after asking for a menu three times, I still didn't get one. There are a lot of good bars/restaurant in DT Seattle, so this one is to be avoided.
Cons: Service was terrible. Never got to try the food because the waiter didn't bring a menu.

The food and the drink at Jasmine were nothing special. The pork that we had tasted like the one from Panda Express. The manager was loud, bossy and unprofessional. When this place was first opened (about a year ago), my wife and I thought that the reason for not seeing as many customers as they should was due to recent opening. Well, now we know why.
