thank you alyshia, i am super high strung about my hair and you did an insane job. The color was great, parital foil and color and the cut was great. It wasn't too edgy but professional and fun! Can that be possible? Also you were fun! I thank you so much, typically i need tequila before i get a hair cut, not this time!
Pros: alyshia, color

I went to Mode salon for the first time last night and am sad I didnt go sooner! I used to go to Seven Salons which is great if you want to pay more and need to have a DJ playing music while you get your hair cut, but for the rest of us Mode is the way to go. From the moment you walk in you feel relaxed, the colors are soothing and the decor is warm, even the ceiling is painted a neutral color that is calming while getting your hair shampooed. The other great thing is that there is no harsh product smell at Mode because it is an organic salon and they use organic products. The products are so gentle that even pregnant women can get their hair colored there. I wasnt looking for an organic salon, but now that I have been I dont want to go back to the old chemical way. I saw Selina and she was fantastic, she gave me the complimentary scalp massage that comes with all cuts and then took the time to really find out what I was looking for in my cut. She did such a great job on the cut process that I didnt want it to end, but when it did I walked out looking and feeling great. Another person to mention is Jamie, she works the front desk and is extremely friendly, she was very welcoming when I arrived and was very plesant during the payment process, and was even able to book my next appointment right then! Mode was fantastic, I cannot wait to go back!
Pros: The atmosphere, the people, the service.
Cons: none

I have yet to meet any employee at Mode that is not friendly and "makes you feel at home". Even though your wait time is short, you are offered a beverage and made comfortable. I love the atmosphere. I have had my hair colored and cut by Darren, who does a fantastic job. He listens to what you want (or my preference which is to have my stylist make a recommendation), and is extremely skilled with a flat iron (after all the years of poofy, wavy hair, it's a REAL treat). The products they use are wonderful, and after Darren finishes drying and flat ironing my hair it lasts for a good 5 days (get up and go!). The color and style of my hair is the best it has ever been in my life thanks to Darren, and I would highly recommend him and the other services offered by Mode Organic.

I had my first facial by Christine at Mode. It was wonderful and perfect. I didn't know what to expect, but Christine was comforting and talked me through the process. Her energy and skills are amazing. She had an extensive knowledge of the products and was able to recommend products that suited my skin. I will definitely be going back to see her. After the facial, I felt relaxed and like my skin was glowing. The rest of the salon was clean and friendly. I love a place where I can feel special and pampered. Nothing like getting offered some tea or organic wine! Overall it is a great experience at Mode for whatever service you get.
Pros: Everything about this salon
Cons: Not a thing

I have quickly become a huge fan of Mode Salon, especially facialist and waxer "extrodinair" Christine! The salon is very hip and inviting. The receptionist always recognizes me and offers me tea, water or whatever I want. The skin care line, Eminence, which is organic and handmade in Hungary, is lovely. I have had several facials using this line and find it very adaptive to the current needs of my skin. As for Christine, I adore her facials!! She has just the right touch and makes my skin dewy and fresh. The music has always been soothing, and the room quiet and relaxing. I have sent many of my friends to Christine for facials and they, too, have had wonderful experiences!

It seems anymore that when you call a salon and ask for their best stylist, you get one of two things. Either they are not accepting new clients or when you get there, they are so full of attitude you can hardly make it through your appointment. I moved to Seattle from NYC three years ago and have been to practically every hair salon in the city looking for the perfect stylist. I wouldn’t normally have considered an organic hair salon figuring they’d be a bit too granola for me but after seeing Mode win Best Seattle Hair Salon on Citysearch I decided to give them a try. I am happy to say my search is over! Joe is the owner of Mode and he IS the best! From the moment I sat down in his chair I felt relaxed and at ease. He knew exactly what I wanted and gave me the best highlights and haircut I think I've ever had! On top of that, he's a darling to talk to. He's not cheap, but he's well worth the price, and believe me... I've paid a lot more for much less! It's obvious he's a great boss too because everyone in the salon seems to have such a great time! It's so refreshing to walk into a salon like this! And I must mention how beautiful the place is. Not at all the crunchy granola experience, top notch! I'll be going back for sure... and telling everyone I know about Joe!
Pros: Wonderful Highlights, Beautiful Salon, Friendly Staff
Cons: None

Monica Rose is a fabulous stylist! She always listens to what I want and gives me her honest opinion if it will work with my hair. I love the style, and she tells me exactly what I need to do to take care of it. Every time I see her I get compliments for days! When I found out she was moving to an organic salon I of course wanted to follow her but wasn’t sure what to expect. After having seen her there a few times now, I am totally hooked! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating! On top of that, the organic products are wonderful and I can't believe that their hair color doesn't smell like ammonia! On my first visit to Mode I was offered a discount to try one of their other services. I decided to try a facial. I don't consider myself a spa girl but I've been to my share of spas, both shi shi day spas and clinical medi-spas. I have to say that Mode is neither and this isn't a bad thing. The salon has two facial rooms which are simple, comfortable and nicely decorated. Not extravagant but definitely not cold and clinical. As for the facial itself, I think Christine is just great! She genuinely cares about the health of my skin and tailor’s her facials to exactly what I need. Her touch is soothing yet firm and always enjoyable. I’ve noticed that my skin is brighter, healthier and younger looking since seeing her. So much so that people even comment on it! The Eminence Organics products she uses are A-mazing! I love how they smell which makes it easy to use them at home! I love going to Mode and would recommend it to anyone!
Pros: Organic products that work! Friendly people!
Cons: A bit hard to find the first time but great location!

After reading the last two facial reviews I just had to write my own! I have been in to see Christine three different times for facials and I have to say I couldn't be more pleased! I have been a hair client of Mode for a while now (Thanks Joe! Love Ya!) but I always went elsewhere for my facials. Upon Joe's recommendation I decided to try Christine and it was absolutely marvelous! It's obvious that she knows her stuff, my skin felt so incredible afterwards and the wonderfully yummy organic Eminence products she sent me home with are to die for! Even my husband uses them, although I think he should come in and get his own! I always feel so relaxed and glowing afterwards... granted there is a window in her treatment room and I can occasionally hear street noise but, honestly, I usually don't notice because the music is soothing and her hands practically put me to sleep. The front desk staff is always so helpful and courteous as well, they even know exactly what flavor of organic tea I like! It's not a spa, true, so don't expect to lounge around in a bathrobe but when it comes to people who know their products and their craft this place just can't be beat! My hair always looks great and my skin has never been healthier and that is what keeps me coming back! Not sure why that last woman wasn't happy, maybe something to do with her username being "sourpatch"!
Pros: Beautiful Salon, Great People, Organic Products!!!
Cons: No Massage

I went to MODE because of the award for Best Facial 2007, but it was far from the best facial I've ever had. I arrived about 30 minutes in advance just to relax. The Receptionist was unattentive and didn't seem courteous at all. I requested tea but she simply forgot-- twice. The lady who did my facial was ok, but I couldn't ignore the thinness of the walls. It was no relaxing experience. I could hear every conversation in the salon (no 2nd door separated the back-rooms and the front desk. The only thing that separated us was a curtain). Also, since it is located near the streets, I could hear cars honking, motorcycles reving their engines, etc. The music was very hip-hop (not my thing when I'm trying to relax) and way too loud. As far as the actual facial experience went, I've had better elsewhere and wouldn't recommend it for the price I paid. She had several opportunities to go the extra mile (knot in my back, etc.) but did just enough to pass as "okay." Definitely not spectacular or "The Best." Again, the surrounding experience was enough to make me decide not to return. The location is at fault, and management should encourage their employees to freshen up on their Customer Service skills and attention to detail.
Cons: Parking, too Noisy for something that should be relaxing, The workers did not go an extra mile.....

I thought I would try a new place since Mode won an award for facials. I did find unusual that they had a ton of reviews but none of them mentioned facials and now I know why since it was simple adequate. To pay over a $100 for a facial that is mediocre I personally think is highway robbery. The reviews say they do hair well but let me be the first to say to go somwhere else for your skin.
Cons: wasnt worth the price
