All American fun. This is the new IT spot for casual dining! It's fun, it's more spacious than most, it's organic, seasonal, local. It's all American favorites done right! The staff engage with customers appropriately. The patrons are friendly folk. I personally found the bar to be less than accommodating or creative initially, but I think they may have stepped up their game back there. Anyway, the food is great. Parking is a little chancy

Can't wait to go back!. My girlfriend and I had dinner here on Wednesday and it was fabulous. She had the Blue Cheese Chicken Roulade and I chose the ravioli. Her chicken was perfectly cooked and was served with really interesting but tasty mashed potatoes. My ravioli was good but nothing compared to the kale and other greens served on the side - delicious. Even our house salads were perfect with incredibly fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was warm and the service outstanding. I can't wait to go back.

Blackbird's got it going on. My partner dine at Blackbird at least once per week, and we've yet to have a meal that was less than great. The service is invariably friendly without being TOO friendly, and on occasion the chefs knock one out of the park--so try items on the fresh sheet if you've been there a few times. My favorite feature of "the bird" is how veg-friendly it is. Items that are vegan (or can be made vegan by simply ditching the parmesan) are noted on the menu with an icon, and there are always a couple vegetarian dishes that are very "foodie" and nicely done. Closing thought--the atmosphere manages to be funky, cozy, relaxing, sophisticated, and welcoming, all at the same time.

Cold food.... We were excited to go the Blackbird Bistro yesterday for breakfast and ordered 2 different benedicts (our favorite)-- classic and italian. I was extremely disappointed and also surprised that the food was cold-- no warmer than room temperature. My surprise stemmed from the fact that there were only 3 other customer parties in the restaurant and the kitchen was literally 10 feet away from our booth-- no excuse for cold food. My boyfriend and I both felt that the food might actually have been good if it had actually been warm, but that wasn't the case. I was NOT impressed and won't be back again.

I love The Bird!. I love the Blackbird Bistro! Came in for breakfast a couple of times on the weekends. The scrambles and spicy hashbrowns are my favorite, or I get one of the benedicts on occasion. I went back for dinner the other day and was equally impressed. The mushroom stuffed meatloaf was delicious, and they offer a free movie ticket to the Admiral Theater next door when you get one of the entrees of the fresh sheet. I left very happy - and wil be back soon.

Not good enough.... From the other reviews, I had to check out this restaurant. I was dissappointed! This restaurant was just average in quality, taste and atmosphere. It also lacked good service...

Great Feel!. I was taken here by my sister who just loves this place. She went on and on about their cheese platter, which ended up being a great start to our dinner. I really loved the feel of the place--the sheer curtains, the minimal decorating--it just has a fresh feel to it all. The desserts were out of this world and we found ourselves wanting to order everything off of that part of the menu!

Intimate, low-key, and excellent. BB perfectly balances Chez Panisse-style "local flavors served expertly and innovatively" with a low-key, casual atmosphere. The tone is set by a well-appointed dining room, a friendly open kitchen, and Manny's on tap. This is the kind of place where you can wear your fleece vest and jeans, call some friends, have an excellent meal, and then go to the $5 movie theater next door for a perfect evening. Try the jalapeno and honey chicken--sounds gnarly, is rad. This will be a West Seattle institution.

Great food, excellent customer service. I went out to dinner with my Mom's group...15 women in all! The service was great, the food was wonderful and the wine was 1/2 price! (Tuesday) I'd highly recommend it to anybody.

Great Spot. The service was exceptional from the moment we walked in until we left. The menu is so diverse, offering a range of very interesting dishes from $7 -$28. The mac and cheese is freakin' awesome! Ambiance was excellent. Will go back.
