i went in there with my girlfriend for a nice little sit down coffee and it sucked big time. The expresso was cold. the service was dumb and i will never go back to that place again. Didn't they used to be a coffee house? Guess now it's just about serving local drunks.

I am sorry you had such a bad experience at Lottie's Lounge. Service is my priority and it sounds like we failed in your case. Lottie's Lounge has not had espresso for nearly six months now as we only serve drip coffee. With the Columbia City Bakery, Tutta Bella and Starbucks all serving espresso, I have changed the focus of the establishment to be about the food, drinks and atmosphere. In truth, we are a cafe and a bar. We are not ,and have not been, solely a coffee shop for nearly four years now. Up until February, however, we did continue to serve espresso. This information is probably more than you cared to know, but again, I am sorry that you had such a bad experience at my establishment. I would offer to make it up to you, but from the tone of your review, it does not sound like that would be possible. Take care. Josh Mitchell Davis Owner Lottie's Lounge

Lotties has really become the place to be in Columbia City. You can still get a good beer for less than 5 bucks, (get a Rasputin and you can get drunk for less than 5 bucks!). The mixed drinks are top quality AND strong AND not too expensive - and there's usually a house infused vodka flavor for drink specials. It's October, and I got sloppy on some homemade pumpkin martinis just last week - I guess that makes me a drumpkin pumpkin. The food is excellent and reasonably priced - especially the locally made sausage. All in all, you can go to Lotties to study during the day, drink at night, eat, chat, whatever. It's Columbia City's non-pretentious neighborhood bar. I just hope that it helps to keep things real in a neighborhood that is threatening to become the next Fremont 90210.

You can't beat Lottie's for great service and the best regulars around. There is a reason that people keep coming back to Lottie's. It is come as you are and what you are just what is wanted at Lottie's. Whether you are looking for a fabulous bloody mary brunch (there are four different kinds, from the classic to spicy to cool!) or a place to meet friends after work, Lottie's is tops.

Lotties continuously strives to improve food, drinks, service and music. The brunch is outstanding with a number of great Bloody Mary's. Local meats, breads and produce are used in the very inexpensive but outstanding meals.

This place is a gem. By day the espresso is the best around, by night the drinks can't be beat. They have an extensive selection of bottled beer and you have to try the watermelon mojito- it's amazing. My boyfriend and my friends alike all agree this is the spot to be in Columbia City. We are so impressed with the service and the food is terrific. Yay for Lotties Lounge!

I love hanging out at Lottie's for a coffee or a cocktail. The service is great, and there are always at least a few neighborhood regulars hanging out chatting with the bartenders and baristas. The cocktails are awesome and the food is pretty tasty, too. Awesome rotating art show and live music on the weekends!

Pros: Great Service, Friendly Crowd, Live Music

Columbia City pub-turned-cafe has neighborhood crowds flocking for the stiff cocktails, friendly service and drink-friendly finger foods.  See the full editorial review.
