Friendly wait staff, TERRIBLE service, food was beyond bad, decor on the funky side. So many good places in Seattle what a waste of an evening to end up at Twist.
Pros: none
Cons: everything

My husband made reservations weeks ago for my 30th birthday at Twist. He requested a 'water view' table and even double-checked the table with a view when he called the day prior to confirm our reservation. When we arrived we had ONE extra person but the hostess (a snotty, pretentious gal) tried to sit us directly behind the hostess stand - our view.... her butt. NO THANKS. My husband asked nicely if it was the 'water view' table and she immediately said "no, let me talk to my manager". Next thing you know she's leading us to two booths near the windows but said "someone else has these tables reserved at nine, will you be gone by then?" HOW RUDE! My husband politely voiced his complaints and although they offered us a round of 'birthday shots' I was not impressed. Our waitress did a fantastic job and the food was great but we won't be back. First impressions are everything!
Pros: Food tasted fabulous

Generally, Twist is an ok bar. It's pretty standard with what you'll find anywhere in Belltown. HOWEVER- I would caution anyone who goes there to head to the ATM before you go. Upon checking my bank statement the other day, I discovered that the bartender decided to give themself an extra $3 tip. Yes, it's only $3. But it's still stealing. And for the record, when this was charged to my card, I was ordering my first drink of the evening, and I have extremely tidy handwriting. There is no way that my "$12" could have been interpreted as "$15". I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years now, and I know bartenders and servers who have pulled this trick before. Don't stop going to Twist, but do not use your credit card unless you want the bartenders stealing from you!!!
Pros: Good bar in Belltown
Cons: Thieving bartenders padding their tips on your credit card

I went ot Twist about a year and was not impressed, so I was hesitant to go back. My freind insisted that we join them there so we said ok. the steps that they have taken to improve the food and there sevice is evident. They have obviously had a hard time geting themselves established as a respectible establshment but you can tell that they are at least making an effort to get better. I know that we appreciated it. The chef took the time to come to the table and inform us about the specials, and give us recomdations. The service was prompt and the food came out in timley matter. We decided to stay and see if it was a cool place to spend the rest of our night, and it was. THe crowd was you what you expect in Bell Town but you could tell that for the majority the people that were there come ther often. They all seemed to know either a bartender or a cocktailer. And the staff seemed to akknowledge that. I was not a big fan at first, but I say give them annother shot if you have been dissapointed in the past.
Pros: Bartenders are some of the best you have seen.
Cons: Still have growing pain. But Making an effort

Some of these reviews have irritated me so I decided to write one myself. I don’t understand why people have written that they did not like it there? I can’t say enough about how much I love the food and the atmosphere there! The staff has always been polite and courteous as well. I know they changed chefs a few months ago and since then the quality has always been great. Anyway, for what it is worth, Twist is one of my favorite places to go. In fact, last week I went there for a friend’s birthday party and everything was perfect. There were 40 people in the group and we had several appetizer trays and they were all delicious. I would highly recommend this place for group parties! We booked our party through their manager Nikole and she took great care of us and made sure that everything was exactly as we wanted.
Pros: Great food, social atmosphere
Cons: Can get a little crowded on weekends so get there early.

This place has got to be on its way out, or it should be. With all the great places in Seattle to eat and drink why would anyone bother wtih Twist. Perhaps it only reason for being open is to catch the overflow of the 20 somethings that can't get into any other place in Belltown.

We were so excited to go to Twist based on the editorial review. Perhaps it was an off night, (they were not busy for dinner, though) but we found the food not to be good. One dish, the Italian sausage with risotto was inedible and this is the only time in my life I have sent something back and not allowed a correction to the dish. It just wasn't good. The risotto was highly undercooked and obviously not prepared correctly (it was like rice, not risotto; not creamy at all). The sausage was gamey (I'm not sure how that's possible for Italian sausage). I applaud their creativity but the food was just tasteless to me. Their only saving grace was the flatbread, which was basically a mini-pizza (you can't go wrong with that!) but again the taste was a little off as my husband was sure he tasted blue cheese, which was not listed as an ingredient. The servers were hot but not that good. (really more cocktail servers than waiters) The ambience and decor was good and it looks like a good place to go for a drink and lounge about, but do not eat there!

I have gone to Twist several times with various friends for happy hour and just hanging out with friends. I've always had pretty good service (their bartenders are hilarious), with the manager always coming up to us and seeing how we're doing. A couple Thursday's ago, my roommate and I headed to Twist for some happy hour (which by the way, is pretty darn good for $2.50...try the Kamikazi) to pre-funk for the night. Upon arriving, my friend asked our server what time happy hour started, just to double check. She told us 11pm. Umm..NO. After kindly telling her to ask the kitchen, she sheepishly came back and informed us that it had actually started (it was sometime around 10pm). After a more than a couple plates (three of which by the way, we DIDN'T order and said we wouldn't be charged for...but miraculously showed up on our tab) and four drinks, we asked for our tab. The total roughly came out to about $40.00 not including tip. So we split the bill down the middle, each putting in $22.00 on our card and the rest of the tip in cash. Fast forward to about a week later...I'm checking my online statements and I see a charge on my card for that very same Thursday night for $39.74. So I call my roommate up and tell her the situation. She logs into HER account, and find that they only charged her $20.00. So I called Twist, informed them of my situation, and asked to speak to the manager. The girl on the phone informed me that the manager would be out of town, and wouldn't be back for a couple days but she would certainly have him call me back and take care of it. A week later, STILL nothing posted on my account and now I have to take it up with my bank...Don't get me wrong, it's not about the $20.00...it's the fact that they kept messing up that night!!! Someone was definitely sleeping on the job...next time...I'm bringing cash :(
Pros: GREAT happy hour
Cons: Sketchy with credit cards

TWIST has to be one of the worst places to go out to in Seattle. Besides the tacky decor, and the scummy cheap feeling type ambiance, the staff there is utterly disgusting! They are extremely rude, unprofessional and remind me of the type of staff that would work at your local Applebee's Neighborhood Bar & Grill. Sounds like fun right? Coinciding with the staff, the people and the drinks at this establishment are lacking class and taste.
Pros: Good Location
Cons: Horrible Staff, Drinks, Atmosphere, Crowd

I have been going to twist since they opened, late on Fiday and Saturday nights. I never realized they serve such GREAT food! I was there last Friday for happy hour. They have a new menu "20 for $2.50". Twenty items for just $2.50. This includes glasses of wine, margartitas, lemondrops, house infuse vodkas as well as food! We ordered all of our items from the happy hour menu!! The pork lettuce cups were the best ever!! We also had calamari, jalepeno wontons, ceasar salad and chicken satay. The pineapple kamakazis are so yummy! It's a scrtatch kazi with pineapple infused vodka- not too sweet, perfect!! It has the best atmosphere. They have a huge disco ball in the shape of a pig in the back! You have to go just to see that. They play a good variety of music, not to over powering, as you can still have a conversation. We had such a good time we ended up staying until the late crowd came in! They even got us a taxi... a good end to a good night!
Pros: drinks, food, atmosphere
Cons: none!
