My wife and I are happy hour dwellers. We love them. We stumbled across Smash this last week. I had 2 martini's, I am a gin man. My wife tried the house red, very good. We stuffed ourselves on potato cakes, duck rolls, a mini-lobster tail, olives, and some savory flatbread, all of which was pretty amazing for happy hour flare. This is the best part though .......the bill $40 for all of that. The service was pretty upscale for happy hour. We appreciated though. My only complaint.....I didn't here about this sooner, and parking can be tricky in that are as well.

Pros: Food, Wine, Service

Cons: Parking, small sign

A group of 6 of us went here for Valentines Day and it was not great. After writing a not so great review on here, the owner tracked me down so say she was sorry , that they had a bad night that night and asked us to come back for a better experience. How impressive. This was a huge lesson, to at least give the restaurant a chance to make it right. Soooooooo right on, Dana at Smash Bar!! I will go back. After your efforts......you deserve a 2nd chance! I'm sure it will be great! AND IT WAS GREAT! I HAVE BEEN BACK TWICE NOW AND IT HAS BEEN FABUOLUS. EVERY RESTAURANT HAS A BAD NIGHT, I GUESS. I HAVE TAKEN 5 PEOPLE HERE NOW AND THEY ALL LOVED THE FOOD! WE WILL BE BACK!

Pros: Wine, prices, FOOD, SERVICE..even parking was easy all 3 times I have been there.

I went last Saturday. Food was awesome. I had the little cheesy tots, I had the duck with truffled mushrooms, the staff reccomended the pinot flight, it went rather well. I like that the have a sommelier on staff all the time, most wine bars don't do that. Service was great.

Smash Wine Bar is a joke. We had a flight of wines that were good, not great, and certainly not cheap. The food itself was good, but again not worth the price. I don't mind spending money on good food but this was average food at best served with a fancy name. The service was downright atrocious with one manager laughing loudly and obnoxiously the entire time and ruining any romantic night you were hoping to have. Compared to the other wine bars in Seattle the best thing I can say about Smash is that it feels amateur and I would happily leave Wallingford for my next glass of wine.

Pros: It seemed clean

Cons: Food, wine, service

My friends and I attempted to have dinner elsewhere, but after we were told a ridiculous wait time, we walked around Wallingford and came across Smash. A happy turn of events! We snagged an outside table and were doted on by an attentive server who guided us through the extensive happy hour menu. We started with their house made sangria, and couldn’t manage to move on and try anything else – it was a perfect blend of wine and drunken fruit. The nicely sized portions of tapas consisted of olives, cheeses, salads, mussels, soup, and spreads kept us happy as we sipped away one of the nicest evenings this summer.

Pros: Sangria, Food

Smash is an awesome place to go if you like wine! You can order over 30 wines by the glass and even by the 1/2 glass if you would like to try out a few. OR even better, get the wine flights if you like a particular type of wine, and you'll get 3 1/2 glasses to compare and contrast. I got the Left Bank/Right Bank flight (btw, their website is not up to date) and this gave me a chance to taste 3 wines from different areas in the Bordeaux region for $18. I thought this was a great deal for the quality of wines I got! Ok, enough about wine. Their strong suit, food-wise, is their nibbles. Perfect to pair with wine (or without)! We had the Marcona Almonds w/rosemary and sea salt. I could tell they warmed the nuts in the oven with a few sprigs of fresh rosemary to bring out the oils and it was delicious, warm and perfect for nibbling on with a glass of wine! We also had the hummus platter which was very good as well, although the hummus was a bit thick for my tastes (think paste in a jar). I started with the organic onion bisque w/gouda that was their take on French onion soup and I have to say, although a nice change of pace, fell a bit short of the original. Our entrees left something to be desired. I got the NY steak, which came sliced and fanned which wouldn't be my preference. This is such a lean cut that it probably would have been better whole but I understand they did it for presentation. My gripe is that the Cab sauce, which you would think would be the one thing they would knock out of the park, was not very good! I couldn't really taste the wine or the sauce, really, for that matter. The desserts sounded delicious and we got the molten chocolate decadence cake w/Stoli vanilla ice cream and huckleberry coulis. It was very good! The service was great, especially from the bartender, who was very knowledgeable and helpful. I will bring my wine drinking friends back to smash!

My wife and I were going to tilth, we stopped by Smash and had some wine and cheese. i didn't understand the whole flight thing , but they helped me through. We had a flight of cheese as well. I think next time we will stay for dinner. Really friendly service, it was a nice change from some other Seattle restaurants I have ventured.

Pros: service, variety, ambience

Cons: parrking, road construction

I have driven by Smash a million times and just went in for the first time Saturday night with a friend for a bite and a glass of wine before heading to the Guild for a movie. I was impressed. The menu had a great selection, the wine was excellent and the ambience is fantastic. I only have a couple small recommendations - the scallops could have been blackened just a bit, and clumsy me, I almost spilled my glass of wine, catching it before I dumped the entire glass. The staff quietly helped to clean my small mess, but it would have been nice to top off my glass. Bottom line - I will be back! :)

Pros: Ambience, food, wine, service

Cons: parking

Just got in to town last night, I stopped by this wine bar and wow!!! Jeffrey is a gem. Love it. Love it. I live in New York, but excuse me this is great. Wine Flights, Cheese Flights, a nibble a bite.Casual digs with a flair of style. Maxim overload!! Try Try Try.

My brother and i went last weekend. Very busy we had to wait 10 minutes. Service was friendly. Our hostess gave us some wine. Our server Matt was great, but when our wine came we felt like we were back in school. I just came to drink, not for a 20 minute lecture. Other than that the food was great, the wine actually was too. We will be back, I think i will stick to a bottle next time.
