Purr's a decent bar compared to the competition, but then there really isn't much competition in the non-daddy, non-leather sector. Most all of the staff is nice except for a couple of the younger male bartenders who think they're the bee's knees because they're slinging poorly made (and often incorrectly made) drinks (wait 'til they get a bit older -- a 40 year old bartender ain't a pretty sight -- head off to CCs to confirm and lose the attitude -- you know who you are). Actually, some of them are fake nice like Barbie so that's better than openly hostile but most staff is generally nice and accomodating. The place is clean, for the most part although the staff gets overrun on the weekends and the men's room smells like an outhouse in a Mexican barrio. The owner, Barbie Humphrey, frequently increases the prices to where a martini costs $10 now. That's right, $10 for a martini that could be either very good or very bad depending on who happens to be making it -- and don't dare bring it back if you don't like it if you get one of the surly ones. I guess it's fine since people will pay it so more power to her. Food is mostly crappy and overpriced, especially the 4 taquitos for $8.95 that are identical to the frozen kind you can get at Costco for $10 for like 50 of 'em. Shameful. Nachos are good value though so props for that. Oh, and I don't even want to think about that gut-wrenching, stomach turning $10 hamburger. Nasty. Barbie, can't you do a bit better than that? We know you love to eat. So why not start putting some food out you'd want to eat that would be a good value? Or just take the cheapo frozen like the taquitos off the menu? What's next, fish sticks? It's insulting. Don't take us for granted... we're fickle and most of us will be gone as soon as the next place opens unless you and your staff instill some loyalty. It's good you take care of your staff -- how about some respect for your customers? It starts at the top, honey.
Pros: Cleanliness, Some Caring and Considerate Staff, Atmosphere, Decor, Lighting
Cons: Overpriced drinks, Low-quality food, Stinky Dirty Men's Room on Weekends, Owner Attitude
