Glad This Place shut down!!!

by uwgboy25

With the Gangstas and shootings, the only scary thing about this place closing down is that those punks are just going to go somewhere else and screw that business up. Go back to Rainer Ave.

  • Pros: Closed down
  • Cons: didnt close sooner

Sugar Saturdays...so much fun.

by seattle1984

Not sure why there are so many people putting down Sugar Night Club.

I think it's a fun place to go.

It says that it's a Gay/Lesbian Bar, but not so much anymore.

Quite frankly. it's more straight, but there's still a mix!

It's crowded. 2 floors. a mix of music and plenty of bathrooms [I never have to wait - Girls understand this].

There's Go-Go Dancers, who are up beat, smile and have a good time.

It's an upscale crowd. Lots of good looking people.

Not trashy. Granted there are SOME, but what club/bar doesn't??!!

Since I've been going there have been a few encounters of fights, but nothing the bouncers can't handle.

Besides...i haven't seen a fight in a few months, honestly....and i go there every saturday.

Just come and enjoy a cocktail and dance a little bit.

Why not give it another shot? :)

and then enjoy a hot dog on the corner with a few drunks... :D

see you on Saturday Night!!!

Shite Sugar in need of being closed down for good.

by naiahi

Citysearch makes you choose at least one star, otherwise this place would be getting none.

This supposedly hip bar is what is making the hip people move out of Capitol Hill and bringing under-age bitchy suburbanites in. Although many people frequent this club on a busy Friday or Saturday night (and sometimes a Thursday), it's the quality of people that makes this place shite. This includes the shmoozey, slimey door guys, the security guards who are looking to start trouble as much as throw it out of the club, and of course all the gangster wannabees who show up and start fights and lean on and punnch peoples cars parked in the neighborhood. I've even seen a catfight or two from some of the trashy girls who frequent.

Now I know some okay people can be spotted at Sugar; I'm going to assume those people are lost or too drunk to realize the poor company they're keeping. But mainly, it's scantily clad or tight-fitted girls who show up all primped and prissy wanting to dance with some macho guy who's going to grind on her. If you think this is a gay club, you are dead wrong. This club might have started off that way, but it has transformed into something dirty and loud with groping men, bitchy women, nightly fights out front... Really, it's atrocious. Do I need to go on? Or are you still crazy enough to think you want to go there? Did I mention that the cops show up every night that club is open? Repeatedly and usually with two or more cars. Oh and the ambulances show up about half that often. Do you really want to go to a club where you might have to leave with your own parting music of sirens?

Maybe you will go, and if you do you are probably the shite kind of person that would show up at a shite club like Sugar.

  • Pros: The cops might close it down soon.
  • Cons: It's still open.

Anyone interested in a fist fight?

by hsitko

I live on the same block as this bar. I have been offered to go in for free because it was so dead. I went in and checked it out one night when no one was in there. Pretty Lame. No one was in there. Then in the coming months there started to be more business. A bunch of gangsters. Lots of yelling, fist fights and police showing up 4 or 5 times in a night before the bar closes. People getting arrested. Don't park your car on the street in front of this place because it is likely to get punched, have someone slammed up against it or have it vomitted on. Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night if you need to get a hold of the police, you should probably call Sugar. Because typically there are 5 to 6 patrol cars in front of this place breaking up fights and taking drunk girls to the hospital. So if you like contributing to the lamest thing happening on capitol hill hands down, or are a gangster, or are looking for a good, old fashioned fist fight. This is your place.

  • Pros: They serve alcohol there.
  • Cons: Lots of fighting in the bar and the street around the bar.

So dumb

by aleksandr111

If you come across this bar and it actually has people in it (it's usually empty... velvet rope or no) upon entering you'll find it's yuppie bitches. It's tragic how uncool this place is. It tries way too hard to be the "it" place, but it is soooo far from it. Yuck, it makes me feel dirty just thinking about it.

...And why is this listed in the gay catagory - as if any self respecting gay man would ever be caught at this place!

Officially the Worst Club in Seattle with a Dead Crowd and Incompetent Staff

by jmiller85

The only good thing about this place is the interior design. On Friday and Saturday nights the place is mostly empty with a dead crowd. If I hadn't paid their ridiculous cover charge I would definitely have left right away. The bartenders were friendly and fast but mess up anything beyond basic shots and beer. Watch out for some of the bouncers; there are one or two who are extremely rude and confrontational. I almost saw them fight with 3 different people in one night! The owner was around the night I was there and shoving people out of his way while walking through the crowd; one of the bartenders was complaining that the owner was arrogant and disrespectful. In every possible respect this place is subpar.

I recommend waiting a few months until the place goes out of business and hopefully the next owner can hire a competent, friendly staff that can take full advantage of the nice interior design.

  • Pros: Interior Design
  • Cons: Dead Crowd, Incompetent Bartenders, Confrontational Bouncers, Price, Arrogant Owner

Empty. Boring. Blah.

by jtb1999

NEAT atmosphere created. The whole club is cool. What isn't cool is the nearly empty dance floor on a Saturday in Capitol Hill. They've tried competing with Neighbours, which needs the competion, but they still haven't found a groove or market. The drinks are poorly made, easy drinks too. The beer selection is very limited, VERY. The staff isn't all that friedly either. The manager looks like a kid and acts like one prancing around complaining. I like the idea, I like the location, they just need to get better DJ's and attract a core crowd to fill this place. Better music and better drinks would help and already outdated Gay nitelife.

  • Pros: Location, Lights, atmosphere.
  • Cons: Drinks, crowd, music

Love this place on a happening night!

by choirboy_lap

Yes, who doesn't love shirtless boys. Catching this place on a busy night is hillariously fun and I have had a few wackie nights here. It is a great dance spot to end the night after prep drinking at some other places. I love the dj club vibe they have created here.

  • Pros: close to other good bars also

A very sad bar indeed.

by lawyergalpal

This place is tragic. We walked into what can only be described as a nearly empty airplane hanger on a saturday night. We payed to much to get in then we payed to much for lousy drinks.(how hard is it to make a good cosmo?) The music was pathetic and outdated, all in all it sucked. They will be out of business before you know it.

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Unless you just dont like yourself, skip this regretable club.
