Julia here... come hang with us on Tuesdays at Holly's! 5-8PM 2 for 1 fabulous food and all drinks! Beer Pong until Midnight! Great DJ. Basically we throw a great party on Tuesdays at Holly's. Nothing too crazy being it's only Tuesday. Have a couple drinks, some food, listen to some great music and hang with a fun crowd. Where else on the Westside can you play beer pong like the old college days at a great lounge bar? Exactly. See you later. If you want to get added to our mailing list for our upcoming beer pong tourney: ilovejuliaandsarah@gmail
Pros: Vibe, Chill People, Mix of indie alternative and dance music, BEER PONG, Awesome food
Cons: it's only once a week

I had never been to this bar before and was actually looking forward to it. Sadly I was disappointed with my experience. Waitress was bad. DJ was worse (no mixing skills whatsoever). After a torturous hour of bad service (with the exception of the bartender) and even worse music we left. Definitely not worth the wait. Also if management is reading this...please drop a couple $$ to buy a new handle for the women's restroom.
Pros: Nice place, good bartender
Cons: wait staff, DJ

This is the most boring bar I've been to in LA, and I've been to a lot. The girls and guys here are all wannabes-- totally dull crowd. I've been to bars in the middle of podunk towns in the middle of nowhere that are cooler than this place.
Cons: lame crowd, unimpressive decor

Last night I went to Holly's West for the very first time to meet up with my boyfriend and friends. I was running behind schedule so I didn't get there until a little after 12. Walking up on the place, I saw a large crowd outside and sighed at the thought of such a long line. Luckily, it was just the smokers and had no problems getting in. Maybe there are lines earlier on in the evening, but neither myself or my boyfriend and his friends had any problems getting in. Once inside, I was very pleased with the decor. The place was packed-standing room only. The drinks were just right, not too strong or weak. I spoke with the manager to set up my upcoming birthday party here. He was very helpful and willing to accomodate my needs. I don't know what the post several places below me was trying to say about the crowd "not being from around here." There was an ecclectic mix of people who all looked like they were having a fab time. I especially loved the great music spun by a great DJ who left me dancing until the place closed. The music was a little loud compared to the silent exterior. But then again, this is a bar/club where you go to dance; it's not a quiet lounge meant for discourse. All in all this place has my vote for a Saturday night and I'll be sure to return whenever that DJ is spinning. :)
Pros: Energetic crowd. Fabulous music. Good drinks.
Cons: Bathroom line wait. AmEx not accepted.

Was shocked to see the sign in the window of my regular spot last Thursday, but decided to check it out again this week. Was happy to see Holly's West open and crowded as usual. Come to find out it is county policy to post a "vermin" sign in the event of any sign of activity of any number of common household pests, no matter how minimal. Turns out the place is fine, no "rodents" as the previous reviewer so ignorantly surmised. Had a great time, and I like the changes they've made to the bar. The manager told me they're changing the bathrooms as well, which is probably the greatest flaw with the place. So "bye bye Holly's West", hardly. More like "Welcome back Holly's West, it's good to be home again"!
Pros: Still the most fun locally, convenient, high energy, great happy hour
Cons: Bathrooms, but they're renovating

Wow, I walked by Holly's West the other day and there it was, a LA County sign on the door announcing "Vermin Harborage and Infestation Violation, Sections 114030, 114030." Vermin, doesn't that mean r - - s, and don’t they spread plague? Anyway, this place started out all right, but it's been on the slide and now collects a clientele that are "not from around here," if you know what I mean. Lot’s of better places to buy those overpriced drinks, say bye-bye to Holly’s West.

When I saw that Holly’s West had opened up within walking distance from my house, I had to go check it out. Unfortunately, I was sadly disappointed. Holly’s West is a failed attempt to bring “Hollywood” to Santa Monica, and I have serious doubts for its viability in a location surrounded by much, much better nightlife options. As expected, the drinks are overpriced. The music is so loud that it makes ordering or discourse virtually impossible. Most importantly, the staff was shockingly rude and it seemed the general manager lacked all skills in customer service. With much better options in the immediate area, this is a place to avoid.
Pros: Next to at least 4 places with better atmosphere
Cons: Rude Staff, Overpriced Drinks

This bar is pretty typical for the westside - decent drinks and dancing, but long lines and hassles at the door. The crowd is nothing special but better than some places in the area. Not my top pick, but a good standby if you dont have anywhere else to go. dont eat the food though, it is not good and overpriced.

Yeah, this place is busy. A line out the door Thurs-Sat night. But it's worth the wait, if your up for the Hollywood scene on the westside. If you want the look without the crowd, check out Happy Hour (I didn't even know they had one!). The food is good and cheap, drinks too ($5)! The best part is you'll get a table everytime. Friendly bouncers on the weekend and great DJs. Not sure why the other reviewers are down on the place, they must work in Hollywood. The new manager is great. Very helpful with my birthday party. I would definitely recommend this place, but you have to know what to expect on weekends.
Pros: Poppin' scene on weekends, Great happy hour, Bouncers
Cons: Crowded, line can be long
