Serious Magic Happening here
by BrkFabFoss at Citysearch
We walked by this place and it never seemed open. One day we were lucky... this shiz is gourmet GOLD.
Fresh as fresh can be. You're REAL lucky if the owner makes your grinder or what have you. Superb wine and beer selection. They have cool live bands some nights. Great smoochy date location (yeah... get food on your face its fun) Nice tables and atmosphere in the corner for groups of friends.
- Pros: You'll count the days until you eat there again
- Cons: well, you can't just pop in when you've a hankerin'
Outstanding Stromboli

The Owner was there and told us the meatballs, sauces etc were cooked that morning. He was obviously telling the truth. Truly outstanding grinders. We also split a salad. It too was buge, fresh and yummy. Nice waitstaff and cool environment. Don't let the exterior or Aurora location fool you. Grinders is worth the drive from anywhere.
- Pros: Homemade food, huge portions, nice people
- Cons: It's a little cold inside. Wear a sweater.
THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!

This is the best sandwich shop around. It is a gastronomical feast coming here, and we havent tried a sandwich we didn't love. I wish it was a little cheaper and I would eat there every day, but it is the best treat around. But its not too bad considering everything is more expensive in this area. The veggie sandwich and shrimp po boy are the bomb! Great place to take visitors as it is impossible not to be impressed by this place! I love seeing a restaurant where the owner has a real passion for great food, and doesnt skimp on the good stuff!!
- Pros: The best sandwich you have ever eaten
- Cons: none!
Best Sandwich you've EVER had!!!
by PjH66 at Citysearch
I had almost given up finding this place open, but I found their site and found out I had just picked the wrong days every time. Luckily I did try one more time, and Holy Cow!
Had the Catfish Po Boy, and the Pulled Pork Barbeque, and not only is there enough food there for a couple of days, but I don't want to eat anything else, because I don't want to spoil the amazing taste in my mouth, and that's just from the cold sandwiches I nibbled on this morning from the fridge as I ran out the door.
I can't say I've ever had better food on or off a delicious buttery Italian roll, and if you saw me, you would know I have a LOT of experience in that dept.
Great music playing, good beers in the fridge, I'll be Back! Probably today....
- Pros: Spectacular food, LOTS of it.
- Cons: Wed - Sat 11-8, but now you know.
Most fun we've had in years!
by ShorelineSue at Citysearch
This place is the real deal: Owners Mitch and his glamorous Mother have brought the East Coast west. Superb food, outstanding music, lively crowd, terrific staff, cover charge reasonable (Saturday night music). The place is small, so they insist on reservations for the Saturday night music. The night we went (5/10/08) a jazz/blues group called Annette Taborn and Curley Cooke played. They totally rocked the place! Other musicians came up at times to jam with them -- saxiphonist, harmonica player, another guitar player. Some people got up and were dancing, too. The place was packed full. We haven't had that much fun in years. And the food was great -- huge, delicious, hot grinder sandwiches served on big plates. We had to eat them with knives and forks, and take the rest home. It is a breath of fresh air to finally have a viable nightclub-ish option in the north end. They're open for regular service, both eat-in and take-out, from Wednesday to Saturday. We can't wait to go again.
- Pros: Food, friendly staff, location, clientele, parking available, music
- Cons: Ummmm... can't really think of any. Try it!
Best sandwich in the world

This is THE best sandwich you've ever had...I promise
Worth the drive, I don't care where you live, the people are great and helpful, the sandwiches are so full you have to use a fork, and the atmosphere is fun despite the Aurora address. Go, buy, eat, enjoy, seriously, these sandwiches are indescribable, they're 'cooking' instead of 'assembling' which most sandwhiches, even grilled ones, are.
- Pros: Service, Food, Atmosphere, Sandwiches, Flavor
- Cons: Location
