Love this place. The staff is super friendly. Jenny always does me right by making my hair look cool, when I don't even know what to ask for.
Ava rocks!

For as long as I can remember I have been trying to find a stylist that "gets" my curly hair. I gave up a few years ago and basically resigned myself to ok haircuts figuring that curls are somewhat forgiving. Enter Ava at Babalouise. She's awesome! She listened to what I was saying, asked the appropiate questions, explained to me why my curls are doing what their doing and gave me my options as she thought them to be. She completly took her time with me, recapped the info. she gave me, checked in and made sure I knew to check back at anytime. The end result is a fabulous cut and "evenly distributed curls" throughout my hair. It looks and feels great . This just happened yesterday and already i've received many compliments. I will be back! Thanks Ava!
- Pros: skilled, professional, friendly
Such a good waxing experience that you're laughing

Mireille is the best superfantastic wax esthetician in town! I know this because I've had waxing done in more than a couple of places around town. She's technically great, but more so, she'll make you laugh. Cuz she's funny. But not as in stand-up comedian. She's just cool. She'll have you laughing though.
And how many times can you say that as someone is ripping off hair in those oh-so-tender places? Answer: not very often at all. It does make the time go faster.
Like she says, "stay smooth."

Baba Louise won me over on the very first visit. Granted, I expected good things after no less than twenty different Ballard ladies referred me there while I was recovering from a terrible cut from across town. Lara was able to restyle my hair enough so that I could once again leave the house without a hat or a headband. She's a miracle worker!
- Pros: Lara's warm welcome, collaborative approach to styling, and mad skills!
Best Hair Experience in Seattle

I fell into Baba Louise just before Christmas when all the other shops were booked for the holiday season.
Rudy's up the hill had a two mile line-up outside (and their cuts are always hit-or-miss).
I was able to book an appointment at Baba Louise within a few hours time with a guy named Chad.
I was a little nervous about a man cutting my hair ( a first for me), but Chad was
spectacular; relaxed, smart, quiet and easy to converse with. He also gives the most amazing shampoo ever. Also a first for me was the fact that upon leaving I didn't have to throw on my hat in embarrassment. Chad always made me look 100% better and was open to my suggestions regarding my unruly-cowlicked bangs. The environment is very cool with antique vanities and all the ladies look like someone you'd love to hang out with or go out with. I even recall seeing a little dog in there once and I like that, it is comfortably home-like. Unfortunately, the last time I called the salon Chad was on an extended vacation so I went to a different salon instead. I am still wearing my hat one month later and I hope Chad returns to Baba Louise soon to help me fix this mess on my head.
- Pros: Good service, good price

BabaLouise is laid-back, professional, and cool. I used to get my haircut somewhere else in Ballard but they just couldn't deliver consistency. I've seen Eunice and Nyssa and they're both great. Always on time and they're aren't outrageously priced. Go check them out if you want great customer service at a reasonable rate!
- Pros: Cool salon in Ballard, staff, stylists
Nyssa rocks!! She's a master of color correction!

As a first time customer, my appointment was randomly set up with Nyssa. For the last year, I had been doing my color, highlights, and cuts myself. Needless to say, my hair was an overprocessed mess. I wanted to go from red to blonde, which can always be a touchy procedure on fragile hair. Nyssa instantly came up with a way to achieve the look I wanted, while also being very conscious to not damage my hair any further than it already was. The outcome was fabulous. My experience at Babalouise left me feeling pampered and extremely satisfied. I will definately be a returning, regular customer. The entire staff was hip and did excellent work. Everyone walking out of salon, after receiving services, was looking fabulous. Thank you Nyssa and Babalouise!!!

This was a great space, I have been getting my cut and color here for a few months and now they have waxing, it is so convenient. It is nice to have this great little shop in the neighborhood. It is warm and friendly and they have great stylists and all for a good price, even my husband likes to get his haircut here too.
- Pros: Easy parking and great services for a good price
- Cons: Some walk-ins, but sometimes you have to call ahead and make an appointment

I recently went to BabaLouise for the first time for a hair cut, a waxing, and lash & brow tinting. What a great place! All the staff are friendly and fun. The hair salon area is bright and chearful, while the waxing area is warm, cozy, & comfortable. I enjoyed spending time there and received excellent services. I will definitely return and I highly recommend BabaLouise to anyone out there.
- Pros: Cheerful surroundings, competent staff, reasonable prices.
