Our group tried two apps, two different salads, and four different entrees. Everthing was excellent. You'd really have to be a nit picking foodie to find many flaws. Service was slow to start but fine for the rest of the meal. With the longer days now, I suppose the restaurant doesn't get that more, low-light romantic atmosphere until dark. What we wondered though, in a place serving many traditional Italian dishes, what's with the loud sheik/fast paced/night club background music? I would have expected some traditional Italian tunes playing in the background or something more of a classical nature. However when you look around and realize this is sort of an 'in place' for the younger (20's, early 30's crowd - saw several 20-somethings all made up with their Sugar Daddys - this place has a lot of 'lookers' including some of the staff) you realize they are trying to cater to the foodie (of all ages) and the younger crowd looking for a place to impress a date before going clubbing I suppose. I'm late 30's and would have prefered Frank Sinatra singing 'That's Amore' in the background instead of the techno'ish beats. Seemed like a mismatch to me. It would be perfect if they could acoustically separate the bar setting music from the dining area and go for more slow-paced relaxed music in the dining area. I'd give it five stars, but the music just didn't match the cuisine and general ambiance in my opinion and the wait staff seemed to be a tad overwhelmed. A strong 4+ star rating.

Pros: Superb food and lots of pretty people

Cons: Jazzersize background music and possible slightly understaffed

Amazing dessert!! Best Tiramisu I have ever had, and I'm Italian so that speaks for itself! Most of the food is wonderful, I have been there twice, the first dish I had was a little too al dente for my liking but the flavors were great. The second time around the pasta was perfect.

Pros: Great Atmosphere

Cons: Sitting in the middle

My husband and I went to Barolo for a quick dinner and sat in the bar area. The food and service was great, however, the lighting mad it hard to see the menu and the food that was served. The only lighting by our table was a small tea-light candle. There was even another couple that had to pull out a flashlight to see the menu. Although the lighting (or lack thereof) helps with the ambiance, it needs to be functional! Thank goodness for the outside street light, or I wouldn't have been able to order! The gnocci was great, as was the tortelloni. I would definitely go back. As a side note, not somewhere I would take children.

Pros: Great food, service

Cons: Hard to see what you are ordering, eating

We had a great experience at Barolo. The food was really good, our server was very attentive and personal and the atmosphere just the best in town. Going back for more soon!

The vigor, the excellent food and service, the superb happy hour and the glamorous atmosphere makes Barolo home for the beautiful, sophisticated eaters and fine wine lovers. On two occasion we seated by celebrities, nice plus! What's really cool about it is that the service is NOT pompous and rather friendly. Great music selection.

Pros: Amazing place

After reading the reviews and recommendations from friends our party of 4 was really excited to try Barolo and were sorely disappointed, to start the music was too loud and seemed to get louder as the evening went on which made conversation challenging, we ordered the Tuna Tartare and we could tell by the flavor and smell it was way below Sashimi Grade Tuna, the Clams and Mussells were in a very good broth but a large number were cracked or never opened and we weren't comfortable eating them not knowing if they were even alive when they steamed them, my Beefsteak Tomato Salad had so much vinegar in the vinagerette thats all I could taste the rest of the evening, the Ravioli special would have been good had they not served it to me at room temperature, the Tiramisu was very good but after such a disappointing meal it just wasn't enough, would never recommend it or return

Pros: Ambience

Cons: Food and Service

I was very impressed with Barolo! So lovely and stylish, a perfect addition to a growing downtown that craves cosmopolitan action. When you add great food to a fantastic ambiance, you get Barolo. Busy, fun, loud enough where everybody is laughing without restraint, feminine but muscular. Even the bathrooms are an experience; decorated with a sensual combination of mirrors and metals. Quality hand soap and luxuriant-pretty logo printed hand towels to dry your hands. Service is casual, non pompous and polished

Pros: Just a great place

Cons: Non

It’s mid-week in Seattle and I’m thinking about a placid dinner with my friend. Have you heard of Barolo? He says…. Go online to make a reservation, NO TABLES until 10 PM. Something is wrong with the online system, let’s call them. Sorry, we are full until 10 tonight. Plan B: let’s have dinner in the bar. We showed up around 9 and found out why this restaurant is so popular. It’s like walking into another world. Chicago/New Yorkish feeling, well dressed people and a profuse sense of professional coolness/boldness surrounds the confident management that walks up and down the crowded room and the bar. We ask: what are the odds of getting a table in the dining room? We had a cancellation, I’ll take you right in. To make a long story shorter, Barolo was an outstanding experience. We loved the food and the atmosphere. We’ll be regulars and tell our friends to go there.
