friendly and prompt service though i'm just not a fan of the communal tables. we sat next to a loud talker which was distracting and made it hard to have our own conversation. when you are paying16$ for an individual pizza, the bill with one app, 2 pizzas and a couple of beers. almost always comes to 60-70$ a couple. not a cheap date to be affected by the unknown seat neighbor. the pizzas were good, hot out of the oven but really very overpriced.

We enjoyed dinner here tonight. Servings for appetizer weren't very large but were very yummy. Pizza was good. I was kind of sad there wasn't more of a selection on the menu but it was fun to try something new and for dessert we ordered canolli which was the very best part of dinner if you ask me. I think the hot pepper sausage pizza was the most traditional tasting and our waitress was good.
Pros: dessert, pizza, drinks (soda)
Cons: didn't love mushroom pizza but it was ok

Cozy, warm, and friendly staff. Good service too. However, it's pretty easy to get service right when you serve pizza and beer right? I spent the better part of my college career in restauants, and learned to be a decent chef by paying attention to the meals I've seen prepared, and those that I've eaten. I'm a "foodie", and have eaten most of my meals out in the last 10 years in Seattle. I need to say that Tom Douglas can do better. I would also hope that $15 for a personal pizza would turn out to be nothing less than amazing. I found it to be simply OK. I expected more from a place with Tom Douglas's name on it, as I've been to Dahlia Lounge and Etta's enought to know what to expect. Calamari and mussel app was ok... .should be hot not cold though, and only get the Egg Pizza if you're in the mood for bacon, eggs and toast (a small amount off bacon flavored fat, and an egg over olive oil on a super thin crust. The other pizza we had was also "simply ok", but we had to add copacolla to it to get a decent flavor from it. I took what I had left home, and just couldn't get myself to eat it the next day. I threw it away this morning. $75 for 2 people.... should have gone to Dahlia's or Etta's if I wanted to be smiling as I left the building. Overall, I'm disapointed.
Pros: Decent appetizers
Cons: overpriced and little flavor

My friends and I decided to try this place. To be fair, we went on a Saturday evening. We asked the host to put our name on the list, since they do not take reservations. He told us it would be an hour before we were seated. That was fine with us. We waked up the street to another restaurant-bar, downed a bottle of wine, and chatted for about 1.5 hours. No call from Serious Pie. We then walked all the way down to Mama's, ordered, ate, drank two more magaritas each, visited, had desert... still no call from Serious Pie. In all, we waited 2 hours and 45 minutes before they called us back. I didn't mind waiting; but having the host mis-judge the wait time by over 90 minutes... that's kind of aggravating. They really should take reservations... held to a credit card if they really are worried about people bailing on them. I know they lost our business-- probably for good. I recommend Fondi Pizza near University Village. There's no wait. They have homemade ingredients. The service is amazing (the hosts will not lie/mislead you).

My husband and I had a great dinner there last night -- it was busy, with about a 20 minute wait, but it was worth it. We started with an appetizer dish of an assortment of olives -- we were pleasantly surprised at the quantity, a 5" diameter dish filled with delicious olives. We ordered the special pizza (olive oil, feta cheese, paper thin sliced sausage, and slivered fennel bulb) and a tomato mozzarella one. Both were just fantastic -- the crust was just a bit crispy, and the insides of the crust would melt in your mouth. A $15 carafe of the house red wine was larger than a bottle, more than enough wine for the two of us. The server was friendly and efficient, and though we did share a table we had plenty of separation and ultimately a nice conversation with our tablemates. I would go back again in a heartbeat; maybe dinner tonight!
Pros: To die for pizza, reasonably priced wine list, good value for money
Cons: Busy and crowded, but not to the point of unpleasantness.

I have travelled so long so far to find one of the "best" pizzas ever in my neighborhood. It is a bit more expensive and a bit less traditional than your average pizza but the combination of ingredients just causes up a party in your tummy. I have to note that cozzy sitting style has ruined a few good conversations and actually a purse for me (the lady sitting next to me dropped my purse on the floor by accident and it got wine stain on it :( ) Nevertheless, I LOVE this place... Nice job Tom Douglas. You do deserve the money! :)
Pros: Pizza, pizza
Cons: Tight sitting, Parking

We enjoyed everything! Friendly Hostess Super friendly service We ate the yukon gold pizza (not my favorite, i feel guilty enough eating pizza let alone adding potatoes on top!) and the sweet sauage and peppers pizza. We had a ton of food (enough for leftovers) and two glasses of wine each and was around $75 with a generous tip Loved it!
Pros: great ambience, comfortable tables and yum yum pizza
Cons: parking. but hey it's down town...

A friend recommended this place and after reading the raving reviews here we decided to try it. The pizza was ok. They had interesting toppings and were not soaked in oil, which is always good, but taste wise it wasn't really out of this world like some reviews make it out to be. I liked the ambiance though and the decor was chic. We did have an asparagus apertizer that was really good. I would probably go back more for the ambiance than the food.
Pros: Ambiance

it needs to be said that this is the best pizza in town, dont listen to others that didnt like it... they dont like it because theyre used to disgusting, over salty, oily garbage that passes for Pizza most of the time... this place has some very high end, gourmet toppings like roasted chanterelles and truffle oil, and the pizza crust is light, crispy and a little chewy... Serious Pie is for people with a developed palate. If you're looking for a truly innovative and gourmet pizza experience, Serious Pie is the place to go in Seattle.
Pros: great pizza, great wine, good service, take out option
Cons: small area, communal tables

I was very excited to try Tom Douglas' latest restaurant addition and was not disappointed with his creative combinations atop near perfect pizza crust. On a busy Friday night we wandered over to Lola's for a quick cocktail across the street while awaiting our table. When the hostess called our cell we hurried back and started the evening with peaches, buffalo mozzarella, and balsamic... intriguing… We shared three pies: Cherry bomb peppers with fennel sausage, mozzarella and tomato, and Yukon potato sprinkled rosemary and olive oil. The last was by far our favorite, although all were fabulous! The crust was chewy and crispy, and just a bit thicker than New York style. We were a little disappointed with the dessert options, but a friend told me the servers would bring in Dahlia’s desserts (right next door) at request. The other disappointment of the evening was our server’s attitude. He seemed a little snooty for a casual pizzeria, but knew his food and wine so at the end of the evening, we walked away satisfied and committed to give Serious Pie another serious try.
Pros: Pizza!
