I love the pizza renaissance that's going on right now, but sometimes the cracker-crust, upscale offerings of Tutta Bella and Via Tribunali arenn't what you're in the mood for. When you're really hungry and not in the mood for fancy, expensive pizza, head to Talarico's for a GIANT and very satisfying slice of pizza. Contrary to what one reviewer wrote, this IS New York style pizza--thick but not deep-dish, with a crunchy yet chewy crust and tons of perfectly cooked toppings. This is pizza you'll come to crave. The restaurant itself is pretty cool--love the giant bar, which serves up some fantastic cocktails, and the oversized, comfy booths that all afford a great view of the rather enormous space. The service has been good all four times we've been, and this is a very relaxed and comfortable neighborhood joint where you'll feel welcome when you arrive and satisfied when you leave.
