Vi Bacchus (Vi) takes the cake for best sushi restaurant ever in my book. Taka is an excellent sushi chef (previously worked as a sushi chef at the Bellagio in Las Vegas!) and is extremely welcoming and friendly. Emiko welcomes you when you enter the restaurant and serves you throughout the night with a great sense of humor and contagious laughter. Every time I go to dinner at Vi I feel completely relaxed and at ease, you will never have a sense of being rushed at this restaurant. If you are sensitive to your environment, this place is ideal, with deep red and dark walls, high ceilings, wood tables, and eclectic yet coordinated decorations, Vi wraps you in a blanket of comfort. The sushi at Vi is unbeatable - great menu (tons to select from), fresh fish, perfect stickyness to the rice, amazing edamame, and consistently tasty. My friends and I love going to Vi for our dinner out nights to catch up, enjoy great sushi, and relax. The only dangerous thing about Vi that I should warn you about is that it's semi-addicting (must be something in the wasabi) and once you go there you will definitely be coming back for more - again and again :). I rate Vi a 10 out of 5, so if you're in the First/Cap Hill area and are looking for a sushi restaurant, I would highly recommend checking it out.

Pros: Fun Chef, Fabulous Server, All Around Amazing

Cons: Nada

Thank you very much for your time to review us. Sometimes, Taka dosen't have a time to say hello to you because he wants to do best to make sushi and some dishes. We took over this great space from the popular Italian restaurant to change Japanese Izakaya ( Japanese Casual tavern). We know we need to change to more Japanese style. We will try to create more nice comfortable space for our customer. Thank you for keep coming to our restaurant. We really appreciate you. Arigato From Taka and Emiko

Sushi comes to the south end of Capitol Hill, tucked into the coziest corner of the Harvard Market.  See the full editorial review.

Insider Tips

When to Go

Right across the street is the Garage, a great bowling alley and billiards room; it's also a great location before films or theater events at the Broadway Performance Hall or Egyptian Theater.
