Make reservations. This newcomer is in high demand. We arrived for our 8 o'clock reservation and were seated immediately at a charming table by the window. The decor is sort of minimalist and modern (drab colors) yet the ambience is a little romantic and has the feel of a welcoming neighborhood spot. We ordered what everyone has probably mentioned as being great - mache salad, vichyssoise with crabcake, burger w/foie gras and 3 housemade condiments, roasted cod w/clams, and side of mac and cheese and apple tarte tatin for dessert. We also had an excellent zinfandel from Chiarello Family Vineyards that was very very reasonably priced. All of the food made the grade except the mac and cheese - and this comes from a mac and cheese aficionado - was only different for different's sake. But, to each his own. Every other dish did manage to impress considering the concept - French/Korean - which didn't immediately seem compatible. It wasn't easy to identify the Korean influence in every dish, but, then again, it was only our first visit. The portions are pretty average which is to say that it is far from nouveau-cuisine tidbits, but also not gut-buster sized platters either. The waitstaff is very attentive and knowledgable. The chef came out towards the end of our meal to greet people and thank them for coming - he is awfully friendly and when asked, even shared a few preparation tips w/us. Bonus points for the affable chef.
Pros: they take reservations
Cons: parking is usually a challenge
