Hopelessly Inept Service

I can't say if the ramen soup is good here or not, as the complete ineptitude of the staff caused me to give up waiting for it after being in the restaurant for about 45 minutes, and this is at, like 3 O"CLOCK IN THE AFTERNOON! It seems with 4 people working in the kitchen, and NO ONE ELSE IN THE RESTAURANT, they were still able to forget to start my order. I finally realized that my food wasn't coming and got my money back, then went to Fu Lin for ramen instead, which is probably the same thing for a dollar less. Why is noodle soup with a little bit of meat in it $7 anyway? The ingredients only cost, like 39 CENTS! A bowl of Pho that's full of beef is a much better value, and I would recommend that over dining here.

Decent bowl of noodle

The place is tiny and has only maybe 8 tables overall, so usually you need to go next door to the Uwaiji foodcourt to eat. A typical bowl of noodle is about $7...and can go up to $10 if you want to "level up" (additional pork slices/flavored egg/cup of rice on the side/etc) I tried the pork/chicken broth which was good but a bit too rich for my taste. The noodle however was very yummy! Chewy, just the way I like 'em! The spicy pork rice dish however wasn't anything special so no need to try it.

• Pros: nice staff, good noodles
• Cons: wait for a table, prices slightly expensive for a bowl of noodle, noodles aren't good after 10 mins

Best ramen in Seattle

My fiance and I have been going to Samurai Noodle since it opened. We were so happy to finally be able to get good ramen which has been in short supply since we left Tokyo. The only drawback is that they don't have Miso ramen yet which is one of our favorites. I also think that they've started to cook their noodles a little bit longer than they used to, but you can still ask for firm/extra firm noodles and they come out great. The broth is rich, the portions generous, the toppings flavorful.

I can't help but wonder if those who feel this ramen is bland are overly used to heavily MSG'd and salted broth. This ramen won't taste like a packet of Top Ramen...nor should it. I also feel compelled to point out that the two one star reviews below were written on the same day and I assume by two folks who were eating together. I'm not sure what their expectation or idea of good ramen is, but I can't agree with their recommendation about Teuchi Ramen. I've also eaten at Boom Noodle on Capital Hill and can't say I would go anywhere else besides Samurai Noodle.

Best Ramen in Washington!

Samurai noodle has the best ramen ever!

I recommend their pork ramen+flavored egg and tetsu max (for those who can stand spicy), with firm noodle.

Best ramen noodle ever

Ahhh Soup

I love Ramen so it's great to have Samurai in town. Their pork broth is for sure the most flavorful of the broths they have so I generally stick to that. The place is tiny, but the prices are good and it's really a place to slurp-and-go. My only complaint is with their soy eggs which are often over-cooked, but that doesn't outweigh the nice post lunch nap I can take after a big bowl of ramen.

People Who Don't Like Samurai Noodles Are Morons

I cannot believe all the negative reviews about this place. Samurai Noodles serves the best broth in town. I would drink it by the gallon, if it was sold that way.

Bland, really? Anyone who thinks the ramen at Samurai Noodle is bland either is (a) a moron or (b) a moron. Try the pork noodles. You won't be disappointed.

PS - Macha tea is delicious.

Yummy

I was surprised to see the previous reviews. I just went to Samurai last week & I love it!

I got the pork ramen, with extra egg, cost me $8, it was yummy and not bland...Place is really really small, so don't go there if you have more than 4 people. I ate there after lunch hour (3-4ish pm), and people are still coming in.

The worst Ramen Noodle I ever had.

I and my husband went there because of the ads described it like some kind of worthy Noodle Shop. Of course we went there with anticipation and waiting time wasn't any of our concern. At least not until the food was served. Wow, the worst ramen-noodle and teriyaki bowl we ever had. Both of us stand up with our 1st bite. We will never set our foot in this restaurant again. Don't mention that they serve water in a stylephon cup (do I spell it right?) We were both from Japan and brought up in New York, so you can say we were spoiled but I would rather eat the instant noodle than wasting my time and money there.

Don't waste your time here but get a frozen ramen instead!

The noodle soup was way too bland.... it didn't have the rich taste like other famous Japanese noodle shop. ( I recomend you to get a TEUCHI RAMEN AT UWAJIMAYA instead) Chya-shu (sliced roast pork) was rather dry and has no juicy pork taste. Teriyaki Bowl? Wow! It was the worst among all, they must have gathered all the meat from REMAIN OF THE SOUP STOCK or it would have some kind of pork taste. Trust me, go home and buy some ground pork, add soy sauce, sugar and sake, then slow cook for 3,4 hours....add some red-pickled-ginger.....voilla! Yammy, yammy...juicy tasty SOBORO MESHI.

I had ramen & Bowl set but all I ate was few noodle and a little bit of the meat on top of the Teriyaki Bowl.... Zee, this has been the only time that I went to Ramen Shop and technically didn't eat anything.....Don't wast your time here!
