Allow me to be brutally honest...I don't really like desserts...and I was never really crazy about sweets. But there is something about this place and its products that has me returning here over and over again like a Junkie looking desperately for his next fix. And each time I'm surprised, impressed or discover a new "favorite." If it's not the Vanilla Chocolate, its the Red Velvet, if its not the Triple Chocolate, its the Triple Coconut...and then there is the Green tea, and my new Favorite, the Chocolate Chip Mint. And if I'm not in the mood for their kick a$$ cupcakes, its the Coffee or espresso I look forward too. Yep living in Seattle for 11 years has regretfully morphed me into a coffee snob...and this place gets it right...my double Short Americano is the best here...The service is great. I have yet to have one bad experience here with the Staff (knock on wood)...and most importantly (from a heterosexual man's perspective) the cupcake girls are hot!

I've never actually been to the store -- I've only recently tried the cupcakes when a friend of mine bought a variety of them to go. All the ones I tried were yummy, but the hummingbird was in a class by itself. I would go to great lengths to get my hands on another one of these cupcakes. In fact, maybe I'll go take a little drive right now...

So the first time I went to trophy, I wasn't totally impressed. $3 a cupcake and I drove a good distance, thinking these were going to be exceptional. Customer service was really snotty. I mean wow, I thought I just walked into the upper Eastside snotty! I bought a dozen of cupcakes and between 5 different tastebuds nobody was really feeling it. So what brought me back you ask? I saw the recipe online for the Graham Cracker marshmallow and thought that was interesting. So back to Trophys I went and wow it was totally worth it. I even had the summer special and that was amazing! The hummingbird was okay. I can't complain moist cake and the frosting wasn't bad. Service was excellent this day. But I went back the next day, I know 2 days in a row, I'm bound to get fat some day! Service 2 ladies in the evening, not so friendly. If everyone was like the two in the morning yesterday trophy would be a lot better off. I bought cupcakes for my sisters birthday and what a waste of money. I bought the cafe au lait. Soooo dry, the frosting could not save it, red velvet: the bottom half was okay, but the top half was stiff :( and the chocolate w/ vanilla frosting was really good. So my conclusion is this, if you go for chocolate you can't go wrong. Everything else not worth $3 a pop.
Pros: Can't go wrong with chcolate cupcakes
Cons: Service is inconsistent

I don't write many reviews, but my experience with Trophy today has left me so disappointed that I am compelled to share it: My son and I have always enjoyed having a Trophy cupcake after getting his haircut at Li'l Klippers next door. So when it came time for preparing his Birthday Party (4 years old), I was very excited to organize a playful party theme using Trophy cupcakes as our centerpiece. Since our party is going to be at KidzBounce, I wanted a "jumping" or "bouncing" theme (something like frogs, kangaroos, bouncy-balls, etc., you get the idea?). Their website has some adorable images including circus themes, a deer holding a candle (delicate and beautiful), and other playful imagery, and on seeing this, I believed that this company was creative, and that we could probably come up with a really charming theme. I have four weeks advance preparation time. I called to get information about themes, choices, special orders, etc... and I was given some information about additional fees for colored frosting ($5 flat per addtl color) and sprinkles ($2 flat per addtl color). However, I was looking for a theme-related presentation. Here's what I was told: go to a party decoration store to buy "toppers." I couldn't believe it. Here I am, interested in ordering a collection of darling cupcakes with a cute bouncy theme, tasty and tasteful enough for both the children and their parents to enjoy, and yet she sent me away. To a party supply store. Pity. I've heard good things about Cupcake Royale, and though I've never tried their cupcakes before, it looks like they are the next candidate in my quest for party-perfect cupcakes fit for a prince! I'll be calling Cupcake Royale tomorrow.

My friend and I recently visited this place on a recommendation of someone else and we left there wondering what was so special. We unsure of where to order as we wanted coffee and cupcakes to go and the young gals behind the counter were so unfriendly they just made things worse. We wanted our cupcakes to go and asked them to put them in a box or whatever was easier and one clerk replied with sarcasm saying "a napkin would be easier". The only thing that would save this review was the cupcake itself. I'm sorry, but I don't see what all the excitement is about. The cupcake was dry and the frosting was so rich I scraped it off and down the disposal it went. The only positve thing was our iced coffees were great. I was not surprised to read all the other reviews about the poor customer service. I'll bake my own cupcakes next time.

I must admit to some hesitancy after reading a few of the negative reviews before me, but I ventured forth anyway as my fiance and I are looking for a good cupcake-ery or our wedding. What I found was marvelous. The service was terrific. I have a fairly precocious 8 year old daughter who insisted on knowing what was in every cupcake before making her decision. She felt the need to ask about every possible topping available and took her time in making her final decision, changing her mind several times (chocolate or banana? no... what about mint? what's red velvet?...). The staff behind the counter took it in stride, holding a dual conversation with both my daughter and myself while still getting the job done. The young woman who helped us knew the varieties well and answered every question without hesitation. The only question that tricked her was, "How do I contact your wedding coordinator?" Apparently the coordinator has a new phone number and not everyone at the counter knew. Fortunately, another young woman behind her was also paying attention and promptly helped her out and answered questions about tasting, etc. If any of the above is "rude" or "bad" service, then all of the negative reviewers below must have been expecting to have their cupcakes personally delivered under glass on silver platters. It's all I can think of... The cupcakes... moist, flavorful and worthy of the praise. They moist enough that not a crumb was shed when my daughter pulled the muffin top off, and yet the wrappers yielded without sticking. A miracle combination I've never managed at home . The mint flavoring in the mint frosting was not candy mint nor mediciney mint but genuine, I-used-to-chew- mint-leaves-in-my-mom's- garden-as-a-kid mint. To sum up: GO.
Pros: Excellent cupcakes!
Cons: It's more than a 5 minute walk from my front door.

I tried to order cupcakes for my wedding as recommended by some friends. I had a tasting, and was impressed with two of the 4 flavors. However it took over a month to finally get a quote, and when I had further questions about delivery etc. I never heard back. I called and emailed several times the wedding director, and she never got back to me. maybe my order was to small to bother but over 200 dollars worth of cupcakes was a lot to me. I will never go there again nor suggest it to anyone else.

These are no Safeway cupcakes. These are worth a trip to Wallingford for. These are worth a trip to Wallingford every day of the week for, since every day of the week has a different set of flavors to choose from! I would recommend going online and going on the day that has the flavors that tempts you most. Out of the six flavors I have had, Hummingbird and Red Velvet and Triple Chocolate and Coconut are AMAZING! I could not have been more surprised to find rich, dense, mouth-watering cake below the beautiful and wonderfully rich frosting on top. Nobody wants crumbly cake but so often it is! Not here, it's worth a trip. Not to mention a lovely cafe au lait and a selection of birthday themed gifts/supplies in a darling setting right in the Wallingord center.
Pros: Instant cheer from the sight and taste, easy parking
Cons: Seating is limited

I went to Trophy Cupcakes to get a pull apart cupcake cake for my daughter's 4th b-day party. It is advertised everywhere you see Trophy cupcake ads. I was greeted with a "do you need something", I was then told they do not make those anymore. So I wanted to order regular cupcakes for the party 1 week away. The girl asked what I wanted. I asked what do you suggest. She suggested I go home and look at their website and then call or come back when I know what I want. I was shocked!!!!! I told her I work full time and this was my day off and I needed to take care of it today. So we went thru the painful process of trying to order plain chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. I was then told, in a very snotty way, that there would be a 2 dozen min. order. When I asked what my total would be - I was told it would be "like 50 bucks or so". I have emailed the company 3 times but have not heard back. I have relayed my experience to everybody I know. I feel bad because, as I have been bad mouthing this place, I have heard the owner is a wonderful person. Trophy needs to hire people that represent you and your product in a MUCH BETTER MANNER. I never write reviews but I was so disappointed in the way we were treated.
Pros: easy parking and tasty treats
Cons: VERY RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I somewhat agree with the poster below me - I went to Trophy the day after they appeared on Martha, and they were definitely overwhelmed. If I didn't know the reason why the lines were so long, the trays weren't full and the staff was harassed, I might have felt the same way. But keeping all that in mind, I don't rate them down on customer service. They could have done better - pre-made the boxes for example, but with that many people there, I totally understood. That said, the whole reason for the visit (the cupcakes) didn't disappoint. I've had Cupcake Royale and they don't impress me at all. Same with Hello Cupcake in Tacoma. I don't understand how professionals can't make moist cupcakes! Well, Trophy did and I LOVE them. My main criteria anymore is how moist the cake is and they definitely succeeded. I had a Snowball - chocolate cake with vanilla icing and pink coconut (just like it's namesake) and it was delicious. The PB&J was delicious too with this peanut butter and strawberry icing, moist cake and a smidge of jelly inside. I think the plain vanilla frosting could use a smidge more sugar. Overall, well worth the trip (and I live in Tacoma). I'm not sure when I'll get back there but if it will be a stop when we are in Seattle.
Pros: MOIST cake, flavorful frosting
Cons: Too far away from me
