I have only had lunch to go that I pre-ordered before picking up. Delicious seafood chowder and a fabulous seafood cobb salad with shrimp & scallops. Excellent service on the phone and at the bar for the pickup.

  • Pros: Seafood Cobb, Service
  • Cons: None that have experienced - 2 visits

- Parking is either street, or in a garage about 2 blocks away.

- Reservations are taken, but not granted promptly.

- Casual dress ok.

- Atmosphere is ok. The light fixtures were dusty!

- Staff is pleasant

- Seafood & Steak are good, but no better than Anthony's or The Keg.

- Slightly higher priced than Anthony's and The Keg, but not really worth the extra money.

  • Pros: Food
  • Cons: Parking

This M&S is located in Lincoln Square in Bellevue. Yes, it's a chain, but what really sets the Bellevue location apart are their private, curtained booths. We were able to get one without a special reservation at 8 on a Saturday night. They are tables for 4, but are perfect for a private dinner with your sweetie. It felt like we were on our own private little island in the middle of all the holiday-mall-bustle. Oh yeah, and the food and martinis were darn good, too!

  • Pros: Private booths, delicious food, great service
  • Cons: A little pricey

McCormick's has quickly become my favorite happy hour spot on the Eastside because of their cheap and delicious food. There are no beer/alcohol specials, but the cheap food prices more than make up for it. The fish tacos here are by far the best I've ever had. Before I tried the fish tacos at McCormick's, I was not a huge fish taco fan. Now, I order a plate every time I visit! Cheap and quality happy hour food! There's even a happy hour dessert menu for sugar addicts like myself! :)

  • Pros: Cheap happy hour, great quality food, free parking
  • Cons: No happy hour beer/alcohol specials

If the hostess bothers to seat you, it might be an o.k. place to visit. The incompetent hostess told us there was no wait and then proceeded to wait. She even asked if we'd be willing to give up our table at 6 (2 hours from when we attempted to sit down) due to a large party coming in. After she began chatting with the other employees, we gave up and left. Clearly 4 p.m at a Sunday is just a too stressful time for her to do her job and seat the customers. Mind you the restaurant had as many guests as I have fingers on my right hand.

After a delicious rare ahi appetizer, I ordered the seafood chowder that was just OK.

My $20 scallop entree came with 3, 1" scallops that were overcooked. These small morsels of scallop were atop a "potato cake" which was uninteresting and undercooked! I actually tasted raw potato! My husband had the king crab legs that were OK but tasted a bit like the freezer. His red potatoes were <yawn> boring! I had the upside-down apple pie which was pretty good, but ordered coffee and my cream had turned (of course I found out after tasting it). The waitress was scarce, so I asked her to please take the coffee off the bill due to the sour milk, and she didn't even apologize! She informed me that she would "dispose of it for the next guest"--good for them; not me!

Grrr...I know MCS is a chain, but I thought it would be better than my "lousy" experience, especially since it was in the upscale Lincoln Square area. HH may be cheap, but stay away from the overpriced dinner entrees!

  • Pros: free parking, cheap happy hour eats, decent steaks
  • Cons: not great value for the $

The food isn't bad but for the cost I'd expect something more. I love seafood and really hoped that going to a restaurant that specializes in seafood it would be amazing. The M & S in downtown Seattle is better, hands down.

The inside seating is rather cramped. The 'outside' seating is in the lobby of Lincoln Square so you're eating your food where peope are going up and down the escalader and in/out the building. It's not the same as sitting on the sidewalk. It feels much more out of place and random, you're sitting in the middle of the walk way, fenced in and often ignored by the waitstaff because you're hard to get to.

  • Pros: Easy to get to.
  • Cons: Seating is cramped, service is slow, loud.

In Short
Upscale and sophisticated, this chain features art deco-inspired trappings such as dark wood, shiny brass and beveled glass. Servers clad in black and white weave through cocktailing couples and businessmen at the bar. The classic American, seasonally inspired seafood menu changes daily; specialties include starters of Dungeness crab cakes and oysters on the half shell, plus entrees like cedar plank-roasted salmon, sauteed lobster with scallops and rock shrimp, and seared yellowfin tuna with wasabi, soy and ginger.
