This is the first review I've ever written on one of these sites... which is a testament to how highly I think of Xplore. Good old-fashioned wanting to spread the word. It's got a great vibe from the second you walk in, and you get the sense that everyone - members and staff - genuinely enjoys being there. Really, if you're downtown and have a few minutes to stop in, you'll see what I mean. I have never enjoyed going to the gym before, and I now actually find myself looking forward to going after work everyday (WEIRD). They've got a lot of activities going on that are all included in the membership... I've tried out some classes and I went on a weekend hike led by one of the trainers. Good stuff... they've got a lot of excursions I'm looking forward to checking out. And if you're looking for new people in your life, it's actually pretty easy to make friends at Xplore. Also, I'm what you might call a Weakling, and I don't feel at all ridiculous pumping my 8-pound dumbells next to guys benching 3 times my body weight. Great atmosphere. So yeah, I'm a big fan of Xplore. I've been a member for a few months now. And no, I don't work there... I'm skeptical of reviews like this myself. I thought maybe making my username my email address (@yahoo) would help remove doubt ~ shoot me an email if you feel so inclined. There's more where this came from. :)

Pros: Friendly/no-pressure staff, plenty of machines

I've always dreaded going to the gym in the past but did anyway but with very little enthusiasm... After my two free sessions with Madison at Xplore, and taking a few of the outdoor classes, I've finally gotten excited about getting in shape! Madison also agreed to work with me once a month for no extra charge. I love this gym!

Pros: Huge facility, great staff, lots of extras!

Cons: Free parking only from 4-7

I joined Xplore Fitness through my office, which has some sort of corporate deal with them. Because of this, I didn't have to pay a joining fee and my monthly fee is less than usual. In addition, the gym offers two free consultations with a personal trainer as well as monthly checkups. If it weren't for these benefits, I probably wouldn't have joined. The gym itself is nice, pretty spacious for the building it occupies. There are plenty of cross-trainers and treadmills either upstairs or down, and there are plenty of weight machines as well as free weights to utilize. However, some of the machines are sort of old, and a few are missing pieces to the pins that hold the weight on a machine. In addition, there isn't much air conditioning, either upstairs or in the locker room, so it gets pretty hot. One good thing I will mention is that its not overly crowded. I've been going directly after work, and by the time I change and am ready to exercise, there aren't that many people working out. The trainers all seem really nice and helpful as well.

Pros: Inexpensive, personal trainers, not crowded

Cons: Too hot, small locker room, can't bring own lock

I can't believe this gym, I'm completely at a loss of words!!! It's the shadiest business in the area! First of all I am a King County and I was looking for a gym in the area with pool. I went to Xplore and talked to the corporate director, What a character he was! My first question was, do you have a pool. His answer was that there was no pools in down town Seattle!!! After a so so tour of the club and a break down of pricing I said that I still wanted to look at a few different clubs including Allstar Fitness in the Seattle Municipal Tower. He told me that Allstar was closing and going out of business!!! So I left and decided to go to Allstar anyways, after all I had heard good things about it. I met with one of the managers, she was so friendly and helpful, she took me directly to the AMAZING POOL!!!! What a pool in Seattle, thanks for the false info Xplore! I was blown away by this beautiful club over looking the water and downtown! What a gem!!! I was also informed that there was absolutely NO plans of closing! So all in all this club is a poor excuse for a business if they need to tell lies to bring in members! I thought the whole goal of going to a gym was to get fit and enjoy doing it! What about making your members happy? The club was OLD and was in bad need of upgrades!!! If any club seams close to closing it would be this one! I would not recommend this club to anyone!!!

I have been a member of Xplore Fitness since February. My experience at Xplore has been nothing but pleasant. It is so close to my office, I like to go for my cardio before I start work. The reception desk is always ready to welcome you with a smile, a "Good Morning!" greeting & complimentary towel service. The new tanning beds are awesome and they always have one available, I have even seen employees from other gyms go there to tan! They are that good. You get a free personal training session when you sign up for membership (mine was with John, an ex-Marine, he really taught me a lot in that hour) & they have something called an "Outdoor Concierge" to get you active outdoors. He creates a calendar every month of recommended outdoor & fitness-related activities you can participate in, it is very informative! The most important thing I can say about Xplore is that not once have I ever felt pressured into buying personal training, supplements, or even to sign up for membership.

Pros: Location, Ample Equipment, Friendly Staff

Cons: Weekend Hours, Parking Difficult
