Best Pizza, Best Service.. Great Memories!

by Mysde

This is a great restaurant for all occasions, all seasons! It is the type of place you can come with a close friend and chat the night away, celebrate a milestone, conduct business, or have a romantic moment with your significant other. It is the type of place you want to be in in the midst of a random Seattle snow storm or a place you could casually stroll into on a warm summer day. The service is great (as is the food and wine) and I am definitely a return customer of both locations (Pike and Queen Anne). If you come in to the restaurant looking to have a relaxing, memorable, enjoyable meal, and you are willing to shell out a couple extra dollars for the experience, then this is definitely the place for you!

  • Pros: Ambience, service, wine, the via tribunali pizza!
  • Cons: they're not open for breakfast :o)

Who Is Kidding Who?

by mtrcty9000

This is pure hype. This is our 2nd time and this will be our last time about this place. "Old-World authenticity". HA! Last Saturday I think Bubba was making some lame lousy pizzas and seemed perhaps he was using dough from Domino's. On the othe side, the bleach blonde waitress that must have been so busy talking to the other waitress that she couldn't help us. She definatly should go to Waitress School, but first start on Prozac,

The first time we were there the food it was good, everything was OK. (Other then 6 screaming young women all the time)

After all of this, ! can't recommend this at all. Zagat can are hear me?....

  • Pros: Ambiance
  • Cons: $$, Lousy Food, Lousy Service

Good

The owner of this chain are proud of importing most of the food and materials from Italy. Not sure about that, but their pizza is good.

Great atmosphere , good service BUT PIZZA is maybe from Naples, California ...Not good..

by rwm2007

OK.... I have been in Naples and the pizza there was much much better. This place is a GREAT GREAT space. They did an awesome job of creating a very nice atmosphere and the wait staff was very courteous but sorry the pizza could have been from the freezer section of Trader Joe's which might not be so bad. the pizza was WAY undercooked. I have to say I have traveled quite alot throughout the northwest and and dined out alot. Maybe someone can enlighten me but with the exception of Flying Fish I have been usually underwhelmed at most Seattle bistros / restaurants. Portland per capita and quite frankly regardless of size has many more great restaurants. Who knows??

Overall the wine and atmosphere was very above average but the pizza which i have now tried twice was not really anything other than dough slapped with cheese... Prove me wrong because other than the screaming kids (parents please control the tikes or leave them at home) the place was a ten with the exception of the pizza which is why I went there.

  • Pros: Great Great look.... Who is the designer??...Wait staff very attentive
  • Cons: Pizza is tomestone thinned out.... Leave the kids at home, playing in between tables...Not cool..

Best pizza in Seattle bar none

by emmasund

The place is a bit small but the pizza is about as good as it gets unless you fly to Naples. It lived up to the hype and the awards and certifications are certainly justified. I don't want to be in there in an earthquake with all the bottles over head but I'll be there any time I have a pizza craving.

  • Pros: best pizza
  • Cons: have to go to the top of queen anne to get it

Arrogant 'claim-to-be' authentic neopolitan pizzeria that refuses to cut your pizza. Either remember you are in the US or go back to Naples!

by dienadl

I first visited their Capital Hill location shortly after they opened a year and a half ago and was shocked that they would not cut a pizza that three people were sharing. Instead, they insisted that we cut it ourselves with the equivalent of a butterknife! On my second visit the insalata mista and capresi were excellent, and we were enjoying our meal, until our pizza came that three of us intended on sharing. I kindly asked if the waitress could have the kitchen cut the pizza for us, since our table was small and already quite cluttered. Well, I received an arrogant lecture that this is the way authentic pizza is served in Italy and that I am to eat it as an 'American' would eat a steak (as if we are all idiots) with a knife and fork! I've travelled extensively to Italy myself, and eaten pizza there - even neopolitan pizza. It has always either been cut for me or I've been given shears to cut it myself. She refused (with attitude), but said she would return with a sharper knife. She never returned, so we were left (again) to cut a pizza with a rather tough crust with the equivalent of a butterknife. This didn't go so well: one of us slipped and a glass of wine went all over the table.

Now, here are my points a) the kitchen has the proper implements to cut a pizza, especially one with a tough crust - not a small table b) I don't care how authentic you want to be, remember that you are sharing your culture and food in America c) you don't have to be rude - practice some sort of a polite presentation about your company policy to present to your GUESTS.

Imagine going to Benihana and being told "Sorry, this is an authentic Japanese restaurant. We do not have forks."? I think not!

I dined last night at the QA location. They still do not cut your pizza, although I was told they would on the phone, but they do now have shears so you can do it yourself.

Here's the best part! They cut pizza's to go, but not on request if you are eating there!

Wonderful service, great food

by artgirl71

What a lovely experience! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. Our server Sunday night was so gracious and attentive. I loved being able to see the pizza cook in this gorgeous oven right before us. The server answered all of our curiosities about this style of cooking with such patience and knowledge. To top it off, the food was wonderful. Not bland at all in my opinion, it tasted fresh and healthy. My tastebuds were quite pleased!

too great

by elvisidol

Wow! Yum! Nothing but fantastic. Great service with a smile. I had no idea what to order and my server recommended the salumi plate and a cheesy pizza (she said the actual name but I forgot it). The salumi plate was unbelievable, the pizza was something I dream of ...perfect crust and creamy cheese. It has smoked mozz and ricotta and parmesan -- the sauce is perfect, not too rich so you cannot taste the other stuff. Nutella on pizza dough for dessert, need I say more? Try this place you will not be disappointed. The servers are super friendly, the bartender was funny and the manager (or owner?) so nice. Super clean too. Oh yeah, the wine. It is all Italian and great. I tried 2 different reds by the glass and I loved both, next time I am going to try one of the bottles that decorate the wall. Cool! TRY IT!! Don't listen to that 1 star review, it was obviously written by a crazy person who does not like great food!
