I have an affinity for thai food and blown away by Phayathai! I was, admittedly, skeptical when I first pulled into the parking lot (the restaurant appears very dark and is located in a funny spot at the bottom of a big apartment complex on lake city way). However, once you walk through the doors you are greeted by the most pleasant dining area, very tranquil. My boyfriend and I started out with the crab rangoon app. and Chang beers (recommended by our server) - wonderfully crisp!! The beer went perfectly with the crab rangoon (rich with cream cheese and crab) which were served with a delicately sweet plum sauce- YUM ! I ordered the Panang Chicken- perfectly spicy coconut-curry broth, large slices of bell pepper and chicken breast, served with piping hot fresh rice (that sauce is addictive! ;) My boyfriend had the chicken Pad Thai, he raved about the sauce- no ketchup! The service was delightful! We had such a great time, we'll be back for sure :)
Pros: panang chicken :)
Cons: parking

Phayathai is my favorite Thai restaurant. Me and my wife will normally go there atlease once a week, but one nite was a really special night because there were one guy on the table next to me stood up and played guitar..We were surprised and didn't know why that customer play guitar for? and finally i found out because saddenly there were a guy from the other table accross the room were proposing a lady to marry. really recommened!!! the way the decorated the restaurant is so unique plus the sound of the music that they play while the customers eat their food very helpful.... And the other best thing of this restaurant is that, if you have a chance to go there, you will see the owner of this restaurant name "Putter" age 18 months running around, but polite.. will come and say hi to every tables.
Pros: everything
Cons: ......

Best thai in seattle. seriously. the owner was there and was great about special requests (i am a vegan and can't eat wheat/gluten)....they whipped up some fresh spring rolls with tofu instead of crab and they were awesome!! The pad thai was excellent (no ketchup!!) and my boyfriend got some kind of beef/spinach/noodle dish with peanut sauce which he raved about (sorry, the name escapes me). Give 11 stars out of 10! p.s. went on friday night and wasn't crowded at all, great service, great food, nothing bad to say!
Pros: EVERYTHING!
Cons: maybe parking?

I live in Maple Leaf neighborhood and was looking for a good restaurant in the area. One day I saw Phayathai's sign and tried their food with my husband. We both are very picky about food. We have been to Thailand a couple times and know what authentic Thai food tastes like. Since we tried Phayathai we cannot go any other Thai restaurants in Seattle. We love their food and also their great service. Try Phayathai and you won't regret it!

My entire experience has been with their deliveries, about 5 orders. The highlight of their food is a combination of 3 strengths: 1. The ingredients are both exciting and fresh - I got one dish delivered in a coconut! Every item I've ordered tastes fresh, not overcooked, and reminds me of why I love this cuisine. My wife never orders anything but Shrimp Pad Thai, and swears this is the best she has had in Seattle. I caved in one night and got this classic with Chicken, and had to agree. But their salads, soups and curries are also craved. 2. Presentation - I simply have to dine in sometime and see some of these spectacular dishes. They refused to deliver an item I wanted because it was to be seen the way they wanted it to be seen. Everyone knows food is more than taste - it must be heard and seen as well. Integrity! 3. They care. You can eat anywhere. They make it known they appreciate having you choose them. Your opinion matters. They are eager to see you happy. Become a frequent patron, and you're like a special guest. Like a I said, I've yet to sit down inside their location, as we're a busy household, but it's all about the food. Don't let their location confuse you. It's brand new construction closer to Ravenna, Maple Leaf and Wedgwood, not Lake City. We've enjoyed Thai One On, but this place is tastier. Two pieces of advice to the owners - your menu is hard to read with all the clip art. It's too busy, and is frankly immature. It was a cute idea, but creates a little wrinkle of doubt: do these people have experience running a restaurant? Secondly, consider using a mixed green salad mix with Arugula and other exciting greens. I was dismayed to see iceberg or romaine lettuce wilted beneath an otherwise delicious stack of tasty ingredients. And please don't make the same mistake Thai One On made - they made a big splash when they opened, but then settled into mediocrity and smaller portions after a year or so. Keep up the great taste!
Pros: Tasty, fresh ingredients, beautiful food, genuinely friendly service
Cons: Lettuce in salad could be tastier greens. Takeout menu is goofy looking and very confusing to read.

I'm 100% percent Thai, and I've been spoiled by my mother's incredible Thai cuisines. That being said, whenever I go to Thai restaurants I'm extremely critical of the authenticity of the food. I'm not easily impressed by the majority of the Thai restaurants that I've experienced... many aren't even Thai owned, which can make a huge difference. Quite honestly some of the Thai owned restaurants can be sadly disappointing. Ok...so here's where the review really starts. My boyfriend and I walked in and were pleasantly surprised by the well thought out decor and warm atmosphere. Before we even received our food, the owner of the restaurant impressed us so much with the level of service he offered. For how inexpensive the menu is...the most expensive plate on the menu is under $13.00....that level of service is not expected at all. Bottom line, he went above and beyond in a genuine way and not a "I'm trying to kiss your butt to get a big tip" way. So we hoped and prayed that the food would be good enough for us to want to come back. IT WAS! We ordered the seafood duck and red curry with chicken...highly recommended; both dishes were delicious. I'm particularly critical of curry dishes because they are my mother's specialty; Phayathai passed the test with flying colors. I was curious to find out if the restaurant is Thai owned so I had to ask....yes it is! We talked with the owners for a bit, and by the end of the conversation, we wanted the restaurant to succeed not only for its great food but also for the mere fact that the owners are such nice, sincere people.

Lake City definitely needed a good Thai restaurant. People- super nice, Food- delicious, Atmosphere- clean and pleasant. They have a bar with really good drinks, too. I've tried several of their noodle dishes and they were all great. I require great Thai food and this restaurant was good all around. I highly recommend to all.
