I spent a half a day in Seattle looking for a MOB (Mother of the Bride) dress that wouldn't make me look like Aunt B., when a friend called and told me to check out Ella Mon. Quite frankly, I was hesitant as boutiques don't often have anything a 50+ person could wear, or should wear. Anyway, at the end of a long and tedious day we dragged ourselves into Ella Mon. The staff were very helpful without being condescending or pushy and I found exactly the dress for my daughter's wedding in two weeks. This shop is definitely worth the trip to this charming neighborhood....Ballard. KittyNC
Cons: I live in NC

I spend a lot of time shopping for myself, and almost as much finding places for my wife to shop. While I do manage to come up with the perfect gift for her from time to time, when it comes to clothes, I usually have to let her do the shopping herself. I found Ella Mona few months ago just after it took over the old Brazillis location. While Brazillis was a wonderful store, it didn't seem quite right for Seattle, nor for Ballard Avenue. Ella Mon, on the other hand, fits in perfectly. The owner, Monica, has put together a cozy, comfortable boutique full of dozens and dozens of pieces any fashionable, 30-to-50-something Seattle woman would want to wear. Monica and her helpful staff have repeatedly taken as much time as necessary to help my wife find just the right work blouse, party dress, or entire outfit. Some of my favorites have been a playful sweater from Spain and a soft, faux-fur light jacket, ideal for a fun holiday party. It needs to be mentioned that one of the best things about Ella Mon are the reasonable prices. From the everyday clothes to the perfect, once-a-year party dresses, everything is a great value.
Pros: Great service; tons of things you will want to wear.

Last week I went into this store at the recommendation of a friend. I was looking something nice for my wife for a night out for our anniversary. The staff was extremely helpful in finding exactly the right gift. They really took time to get to know me and what I was looking for. Thanks for exceptional service and for making me feel so very welcome!
Pros: Service was exceptional. Selection is beautiful!
Cons: None.

We spent 4 hours on Saturday trying on clothing and deciding on the best outfits. The service and selection were great....they were endlessly patient and had great suggestions on which items to try. We went in looking for a dress for a special occasion and ended up buying a special dress, a dress that could also be a tunic , a cotton scoopneck tee, short blk/wht check jacket, black pants and a drapey cowlneck top to wear with the jacket. Loved but did not buy a green tweed jacket with an asymetrical neckline, a knit tunic, a fabulous necklace and a couple of other things...which they added to my "Wish List" for Christmas. They will call and set up an appointment time for my significant other to come in and pick out an item or two. Its great...I know that I will love what I am getting and I won't have to deal with the return after Christmas thing. The party dress selection is really extensive and they have lots of styles and sizes...plus we got a free evening bag when we bought the dress. They also have an evening jacket of faux fur that is so soft you would swear it is really fur.
Pros: Great service and really comfortable to shop; couches, bottles of water etc
