We went to swank on a Saturday night with 5 people in our group, 3 men and 2 women. We had checked the web page to see what the cover was and what was going on that night. It was a costume party with a $3 cover for those not in costume, $9 cover for the boys.. not bad right? just wait.. The girls got dressed up and we went down to Swanks. We walked in the door only to be told that it would be $51 just to get in the door!!!!!! WHAT?!?!?! We polietly told them what their web page said.. and in fact what the sign said on the door.. but where quickly informed that those where incorrect and would have to pay the $51 to get in.. The cover was $15 each male and $3 for each of us girls because we had dressed up. Now.. I could understand paying that if there was a live band, or even decent drinks.. But to be honest .. I wouldn't pay ANY cover to go into that place.. Ive been there before when there was no cover and its nothing special.. Just another bar with over priced drinks, bad service and rude people giving you the evil eye. I just don't understand what they are charging such an OUTRAGEOUS cover charge.

Pros: It is a nice gay bar in the middle of kent.. So i dont have to drive all that far.. other than that .. nothing special

Cons: Rude staff, Weak and over priced drinks, false advertisement on home page, LOTS of rude patrons.

Did friends/employees write the other reviews? Went on a Saturday night no less: maybe 10 people in the place. My girlfriend and I went to the bar to buy a couple of drinks and hang out. Someone was in the back, but couldn't be bothered to work. A regular yelled back twice "You got customers" but it didn't do any good. After several minutes of standing around and chatting, we headed over to Traxx.

Pros: ??

Cons: NO Service

I thought I would go to swank after reading very good reviews.. The bar is nice and blush it was sunday around 5pm I stayed a bout and hour.. there wer 9 guys 9 ladies.. I did not experience any of the warm fluff that the other reviews had stated.. Instead I was glared at by one of the women employees.. Not one person evennoticed I was in the bar.. This was a sunday .. maybe different during the week but if you go alone you set by yourself so bring someone with you.. reminds of the gay bars downtown.. unless theres and event going on.. I wil l probably not give another try especially on sunday if soemone talks to me I usually have dinner and more to drink.. if they do ot I leave after one drink henry841u

I had been meaning to get to Swank for the past several weeks. I finally made it this evening and I had a great time. Very friendly people, excellent food and drinks for a reasonable price. It's a pleasant alternative to the bars in Seattle. I'm so happy to have this place close by. I'll definitely be coming back soon, and often!

Pros: Friendly staff, lots of room to move, digital Jukebox, great food

Cons: none that I saw

You guys know you're the best yet to take over!!! We have a blast at your place. The drinks are great, the music/dancing is a blast & sometimes the scenery's not bad either... if you know what I mean, Frank! =Þ Congrats for making the SWANK a success!!!!

My friends and i have been going to Swanks since it was called "change up" gotta tell you tho..between all the owners, the new management of swanks is the best. Travis and Franklin mingle with customers as if they are all friends. I personally and im sure i can speak for my friends when i say that swanks is the best place to go..good cheap drinks, pool, darts, tv, games, cool dj just a very good athmosphere. Everyone Anyone is always welcome..the location is very convinient too because its right next to a hotel, and next to Sharis. I give two..hell 10 thumbs up for Swanks..we love u guys ~Denise n Chai

Pros: newly remodeled bathrooms, dj, staff, quality n quantity of drinks n food, customer service, pretty much all of it

Cons: i would have to say the lighting, maybe it could use a lil more black lights..

Swank is the hottest spot for nightlife in the south end! The crowd is a great mix who are happy to include everyone. This is a great spot for les bians and gay men. I highly reccommend that you check it out if you have not yet. Come out for Karoke, dancing, football or the "L word". There is always something going on and the bar has a web site that is updated regularly with great info on up coming events. www.swankkent. There is good food, great happy hour specials and fun events regularly. This bar is a great new alternative in Kent.

Great place in Kent to have fun! I love hanging out and enjoy all the interesting people who visit here. I drive from Tukwila just because I enjoy it so much. Better than the clubs downtown, as there is no bad attitude here! The bartenders really liven up the place and always make you feel like you belong! I can't recommend this place enough!

Pros: Great drinks - fun, fun, fun.

Great bar with a comfortable atmosphere! You will find an eclectic mix of people: lesbian, gay, transgender, and straight! The staff makes EVERYONE welcome…and they make a great drink too! There is always something going on, whether it is dancing on the weekend or karaoke on Wednesday & Thursday! And for the sports fan there are plenty of TV’s to watch the game on Sunday and Monday’s! It has something for everyone. Stop by and enjoy a good time! As far as food goes the kitchen is fast and serves up some delicious treats all day long! The prices are reasonable for the quality (and quantity)!!!

Pros: Newly remodled bathrooms (hurray);big place with plenty of space to hang out!

Cons: Have too much fun!

Hi, Just stopped by after a round of golf with the GUYS, and found Swank to be a great place to hang out. Kent has been waiting a long time for a good gay and lesbian bar, that you can dance and sing Karaoke at. It also has great food. Try it, for sure.... and have a gay old time everyone.... Dan
