They repeatedly lied to me - they changed the delivery date four times, they jacked up the prices because they said the shipment weighed more than the inventory quote but they were either unwilling or unable to substantiate the increased weight with weight tickets. They held my possessions hostage until I paid an additional $1330. When I contacted the owner over the increase, the failure to deliver when promised and the broken items, he agreed to a $600 refund. The check bounced!!! They won't make good on the check and now the owner says they are out of business!!! I'm out of luck, out of money and out of patience with this company. AVOID THEM!!

Pros: ABSOLUTELY NONE!!

This is my first time on here. I had Discover moving move my stuff from North Carolina to Texas. I had a samll 1 bedroom apartment and they told me was going to be one price. I get a phone call 3 weeks later telling me that if I dont find a place to store my belongings they are going to send my stuff to salvation army b/c the company closed and they jacked up the price of my stuff by 800. I will never ever ever ever deal with these people again. I have also contacted a lawyer to try to find out what my rights are

my experience with discover was terrible just like many others on this site......they charged me additional fees AFTER they raised my total due by $230 to meet their minimum fee....the worst part is, however, that i confirmed several times that they were to meet us to pack us up at 10am....they were no-shows at that time, they wouldn't answer the 20 phone calls i made after that to find out where they were, and finally sent another crew who arrived at 5pm! needless to say that screwed up our move since we lost a whole day waiting for them....they were then to deliver our stuff to the new location at 10am the next day....finally after about 10 phone calls they showed up at 3pm! unfortunately, nobody seemed to care that they had inconvenienced us and wasted 2 full days of our time.....they also damaged (slightly) some of our furniture just because nobody was being careful with it (for ex, floor speakers placed in the truck with no blanket around them----severely scratched of course).....cannot recommend this company!

What started out at 3200.00 job ended up costing 6500.00. First they brought the wrong size truck and I had to leave 2 dressers, a frezzer & a office desk behind. I did 2 walk throughs with the company over the phone detailing everything we owned and letting them know that it was a 3000 sq ft home,and then they had the nerve to charged me for their mess up. We moved into our new house on 8-25 and I've been told that a driver would be here on the 26, 28, 29 and today I was told the 31st. I had to go buy air matteress, blankets, towels so at least we would have something to sleep on. Their customer service is the worst I've ever had to dell with no one could give me a honest answer or a call back. Stay away from this company you will be screwed.....

The economy being where it is right now my company decided to close one of their locations, and also didn't let me know till the last minute that I would be relocating to Georgia. The first thing I did as soon as I got the news is to go online and look for a company that would be relocating us. The first call I got was from Jennifer with Discover Moving, she answered all my questions. I told her that I wanted the price to include everything as the company was going to pay for the move I didn't want to have to do any extra work and as I was being inconvenienced as it was. She let me know that it was a full-service moving company and that I would not have to do a thing during the move. So I submitted the quotes to my company and as luck would have it they decided to go with Discover moving. The day before our move a lady called us to let us know that our pickup would be at 11 AM. The movers arrived just as expected and immediately began packing our thing before we knew it all our things were on the truck. One of the movers let us know to call the office to find out about delivery and gave us the direct number for dispatch. I have to say that I was pretty excited as our pickup was really great. When we had gotten to Georgia I called the number the man had given me to ask about delivery they told us that it was a ready on its way to us and should be there in the next few days and that the driver would call the day before arrival. The delivery was on a Wednesday so I had to go to work but my wife was home to let them in and just as before she didn't have to do a thing, they unpacked and put together all the furniture. I just wanted to put up this review to let people know how much time this saved me and in today's busy world I just couldn't have done it all myself and it's rare that you find that a company actually does what it promised to do.

Sum it up in a few words. Charged me almost 3 times the original estimate, subcontracted my belongings to another moving company which broke 1/2 of my belongings,would not return phone calls,refuses to pay for damages and it took 3 weeks for my belongings to be delivered after promising me 7 days. Really horrible people

I helped my daughter with a move using Discover Moving and it was one of the worst experiences of my life.  After they loaded the truck, they demanded a price two and a half times higher than what she was originally quoted.  We had to get the police involved just to stop them from leaving with her stuff and taking it to a storage facility.  My daughter and I ended up spending a couple of weeks seeking help from the authorities because the final price kept changing after the truck left.  The owner claimed that she had more stuff than the original estimate even though she provided them with a detailed inventory list a month in advance and the weigh tickets indicated a final weight only 278 lbs more than the original estimate.  She finally got most of her stuff delivered (some damaged) for about $3100 more than the original estimate, which was about 50% higher than the original quote.  I guess that’s better than the $9500 they originally wanted to add on.  Whatever you do, don’t let the movers talk you into signing anything (like a revised estimate form) before they load the truck.  Once someone has your life’s memories, you have very little leverage in the negotiations.

Discover Moving and Storage did an amazing job on my relocation! When I moved from South Carolina to Indiana, I received several estimates and narrowed it down to 3 companies who were very reputable. After researching them, I decided that Discover Moving was the best choice for me and my family. In hindsight, I am very happy at the decision I made. I could not have asked for a better experience with them and the foreman Moti was the most professional foreman I have dealt with in my many years of moving. Since my husband is in the military, we move more than once a year and I am going to use Discover Moving and Storage for all future relocations.

My family and I were moving to North Carolina, and I had read many good reviews about this company. We spoke to a salesperson on the phone, who set a pick-up date, emailed us a quote, and emailed us a bill for 10%, which we signed and faxed back. On the day of the move, we called the company to find out that the move could not be completed because there were no "trucks in Utah." The saleslady had the wrong phone number written down, so they claimed they could not contact us. However, no emails or regular mail was sent to notify us so we could make alternate plans. Customer service was snide and unsympathetic. They provided us with the number of another moving company that also could not help us. We left several messages with the salesperson and have NEVER heard back. I filed a complaint. Avoid this company!
