I've been desperately looking for a salon to go to in Seattle for about 12 years. During that time, I have suffered through really bad service for a good cut. I have also had really bad cuts from nice people. All that has changed with Ten Pachi. I arrived for my appointment and after a few minutes was told that the stylist was running late. Argh! I hate waiting! But for somebody to let me know what was going on was HUGE. (In the salons that I have been to - many of them considered Seattle's best - I have not been shown that kind of courtesy. The unspoken message seemed to be that my time wasn't as valuable as theirs and that it shouldn't be a big deal to wait for their greatness.) As I said, I don't like waiting, so I asked if somebody else was available. They looked at the calendar and said that everybody would probably be free at about the same time. They seemed to really want to make this work for me - also HUGE. I said I could wait. I felt like it was worth waiting for. And it was! Throughout the experience - from the wait to the wash to the cut to my departure - the staff was so gracious! As for the cut...it was great! Nice, clean ends. Lissy inspired confidence in me. Again - HUGE! I always appreciate it when a person with a sharp object near my head knows what she is doing. And this certainly is not insignificant: the wash was great. Very thorough - I felt like my hair (and scalp) was really being washed, not just played with. I will definitely be recommending Ten Pachi to everybody I know.
Pros: excellent service from beginning to end
Cons: the hair washing station was awkward - it wasn't uncomfortable, but I think it doesn't take into account differences in height
