The Loft Salon and Gallery exemplifies elegance, sophistication, and true artistry in the salon industry. The staff are in tune with the ever changing needs of their clients and are always willing to go the extra mile to satisfy.

I followed my stylist, Mark David to The Loft all the way from Tacoma and I couldn't be happier. Being a somewhat picky, high maintenance 20's something Male, I am fairly difficult to keep content, but i found exactly what i was looking for in a stylist when I became acquainted with the artistic touch of Mark David.

The pairing of such a beautiful high-end salon, with such an up-beat, friendly staff and the amazing art work of photographer/artist Jonny Bean is sure to appeal to anyone who walks through the door, and will definitely keep me coming back for years to come.... :)

• Pros: Everything!! Parking is even easy to find!!
• Cons: none that i can think of!!

For dudes: Great haircuts, great massage

For you quick readers:

They just moved to a new location downtown and expanded their services. Been going to them for over a year now for haircuts, and recently started getting massages there as well. The new place is super nice, staff is always extremely hospitible and they have great personalities.

Haircuts: Great haircuts for dudes, a bit more expensive then the quick haircut places but cheaper then the salons and MUCH higher quality haircuts than either. Worth every penny, I'll be here for life

Massage: Ali is F'ing amazing, she has the absolute perfect balance of pressure and comfort which makes every bit of difference in a massage. Again, a bit more expensive then the mall joints, but cheaper then the high end salons and EVERY bit as worth it.

Manscaping: I hate admitting it, but I get my eyebrows waxed every month or so. I'm lazy and don't want to pluck, so spare me the riducle. None the less my eyebrows still look like a straight man's dude brows when I leave and that REALLY says something.

Details:

So for a guy, finding a GOOD haircut is actually rather difficult. There are tons of places where you can go, get your haircut for cheap, and get a different person every time. Or you go to some super upscale salon, and pay a boat load for a slightly better haircut but still feel lacking. Well I've finally found my hair stylist for life and it's here at the Loft. As a dude you don't remember how your hair was cut last time, what style you like, what product you used, you just know if it looked good or not. Charlie, not only remembers exactly how to cut my hair every time, but he makes it look awesome every time. I know it sounds odd to say this but everytime I leave the salon I look so damn good I feel like I could hook up with any chick I wanted (though I wouldn't because I'm married now...)! I also know that if it's time to change it up, he'll tell me how I should change my hair without having to keep up with the latest trends, which is actually pretty rare.

As to product...I can't believe I'm about to talk about hair product but for the sake of the review I shall. I've tried many different hair products throughout my 29 years of life, and they all have their ups and downs. Charlie took the time to try out multiple different types, give me different samples to try out and I've finally found something that works absolutely perfect. It's easy to walk into any salon or stylist and get a reccomendation for a product that works generically for everyone. It's an entirely different matter to have someone who takes the time to find out what works best for you, try out new stuff to determine what works best and give you samples to try out.

Massage:

As above, Ali is amazing. I've had massages in many different places and have never had it as good as here. I've done the high end spa massages at nice hotels when on vacation. I've done the Gene Juarez experience, but this isn't even the same thing. It's easy to communicate exactly what i want without feeling akward or that I'm not manly enough to take it. When I pull a muscle working out she knows exactly what to massage to help it loosen up. When I just want to relax she has the perfect balance to make me wish I had more money to have massages all the time. I've had some deep tissue, sport, sweedish, and hot stone massages from her and all were equally awesome.

If you got to this point in the review you either skipped what i wrote, or are super interested so I would highly reccomend making an apointment. They are ALWAYS having specials so I would reccomend checking it out!

Awesome Salon, Spa & Gallery in Seattle!

I was a walk in client and they were welcoming and great from the start, everyone says hi when you walk in. Went in for a shampoo, blow dry and syle...which was a AMAZING!!!! The scalp massage they gave me during the shampoo was sooooo relaxing! I loved the way Jamie, my stylist, styled my hair! Actually ended up staying for a mani from Rachel. One of the best main's I've ever had. Everyone was so warm and nice I didn't want to leave. I will definetely be going back!!!! Thanks The Loft staff, you are all wonderful!!!!

Jennifer is AMAZING!

Jennifer took my hair from bright orange and pink to a beautiful cherry auburn. She's always got a smile on her face. She also knows her stuff, she gave me the best dye job I've ever gotten. And the cut was perfect for how I wear my hair. I will definitely be going back to see her.

I would recommend her for any hair styling job day or night.

Great place with designers that have a really REALLY good eye a cutting hair for your face. They are a find and I want to tell more people about them because they can truly turn you from a dull drab style to your full potential. Very good give them a try!

My wig was BUSTED!

...Not any more though! Charlie fixed me right up. He always knows what I'm looking for in a dew. and his english is impeccable! All I have to do is give him a description of what I want to look like, and he works it out.

I now have a better haircut than anyone in my Fantasy Baseball league!

Easily the best cut and color I've ever had!

I had my hair cut and colored by Andy at the Loft, and it looks amazing! I gave him some general guidelines, but basically let him do what he thought would look good, and I love what he came up with. In addition, Andy is hilarious, so the time flew by - quite a difference from some of the other stylists I've gone to who don't really talk to me while they're working. The salon has a very different look from most that I've been in, with darker wood, full-length mirrors, and stylists who don't look like extras from the OC. I was very comfortable, and not only will I be a returning customer, but I can highly recommend this little neighborhood salon to others.

• Cons: parking can be dicey at peak times

Great Foil, Fabulous Service and Relaxing Atmosphere

I was very happy with the service i received here. The salon is unique in that it is also a mini gallery with great photographs on the wall, and jewelry, cards and other knick knacks for sale. It is in the Roosevelt neighborhood and easy to get to-street parking was readily available. My stylist Jennifer gave me an amazing foil. My hair is very dark, and in other salons i have sat for over 2 hours waiting for the color to take. With Jennifer, my color took less than an hour and turned out amazing. She took the old highlights i already had and added a lighter color, blending it nicely. She really seemed to listen and make great judgements as to what looks good on each client. She didn't rush, and really took her time, and styled my hair beautifully afterwards. I left the chair feeling like a new woman! Although the regular prices are a bit more than i am used to spending, you certainly get your money's worth, both with the fabulous results and the experience you get there.

Loved the care and thought that was put into my cut!

I just recently moved to this salon for my services and couldn't be happier with the experience. Andy S. cut my hair and spent so much time talking about my lifestyle and concerns before he even washed my hair. I love knowing that he truly cared about my cut and what would be best for me. I felt completely comfortable with what his recommendations were and when I left felt beautiful. I am excited to spread the word about Andy and to head back for my next appointment!

Great cut and color thanks to Jennifer!

Jennifer was awesome and I love my new cut and color. She was super friendly and very confident in executing her work. I love going to a stylist and letting them do whatever they think will look best and Jennifer definitely has this skill down. When I got home, my husband loved my new hair which doesn't happen all too often. I will definitely be going back. Thanks Jennifer!!!

Always Statisfied!

I only go here to get my hair done. It is an amazing experience and you feel like family. They have such a variety of services and keep you comfortable while your there. There are many other things you can purchase such as sunglasses and custom jewelry. The people whom work there are experts and make sure your satisfied once your done. It's an overall fun and great experience, a good girls day out.
