"Edge Personal Training Studio" has made a huge difference for me. When I started I was way out of shape. I feel much better now. One of my favorite aspects of "Edge" is Erik has the ability to push me to do what I need to do and at the same time we're talking about any and evrything else not focusing on how much I don't care for exercise. Very well thought out planned routines that vary with each visit to keep me on my toes and to make it interesting. Thanks Erik.

Erik doesn't like whining, and I can't shorten my repetitions by playing the age card. He makes me stay on task for the long haul. I started training because my back was constantly aching and I had no strength in my arms. My strength has improved tremendously over the past weeks and my back pain is much less. I like the feeling of working out and the confidence that it gives me. I had worked with another trainer in the past who had me lifting weights which were too heavy for me. Consequently, I strained my neck. Erik is attentive making certain that I do the routines correctly. I feel strong and my pain is under control. My stomach fat is going, and somehow, I 'm not always thinking about food when I work out. I think that my body likes this.........Roberta, 64 yrs.
Pros: private, comfortable atmosphere

I have been visiting the studio for a few months now, and I have really come to enjoy the truly personal service and training plan that Edge provides. In a city filled with corporate "mega-gyms", it is refreshing to support this local small business.
Pros: Excellent service
Cons: no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan

I started training with Erik when he was working at a local gym. His teachings have changed my life forever and I can't begin to express how thankful I am. Having never been to a gym, other than in college to go to the smoothie bar, I was extremely hesistant to start. Erik is able to determine your weaknesses and turn them into your strengths, all while carrying on a conversation which makes the time fly so fast you forget you're working out. With Erik's help, I lost 64lbs in 9 months for a finishing weight of 169lbs (body fat - 24.8% to 15.2%). He knows what he's doing and makes it fun!
Pros: Extremely personal fitness plan; Genuine concern and care; Talented motivator
Cons: Parking; Tight Schedule

I have trained with Erik for a little over 2 years. First to keep in shape while waiting for knee surgery, then to rehab after the surgery, and now because I'm 53 years old and I like it when people say "wow, great arms" when I wear a sleeveless dress.
Pros: easy parking, flexible times

I'm new to personal training and strength training, and began training with Erik to jump-start my fitness goals. I'm six weeks in, and am seeing GREAT results! My sessions leave me sweating, exhausted, and feeling great. Erik is able to 'read' his clients and always seems to know when I have 2 or 3 more reps left, and knows when to grab the weights or when to push me harder. While his evenings are filling up, he's great at being as accommodating as possible in working around my crazy work schedule. The space is great, although I worry about it being warm in the summer. I walk from home, but I know there's tons of spaces available. I feel safe in Erik's training, and he has motivated me to meet my fitness goals like no one else has.

I'm one of those "way to busy" people, who would not find the time to work out if it wasn't on my calendar. Erik's "Edge Personal Training" studio has made my workouts regular, super fun, and I've been so happy with the results. Sometimes you forget to take time out for yourself, but when you're in top shape, it is amazing to see how much more energy you have to do things you've always wanted to do. I snuck in a 17 mile hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon a month ago, something that would not have fit into my life without being fit. "Thanks Erik for your great attitude and helping me get great results!"
Pros: Great location in downtown Ballard

I have only recently joined on with Erik and couldn't be more impressed. I have had multiple knee surgeries in the last 10 years and he makes my workouts painless. (that's not the easiest thing when you are missing cartilage). I've already started to lose inches in the past 6 weeks. It's one on one so I never feel uncomfortable. He's energertic, fun, and let's me play my own music. It's a great place!!
Pros: one on one training, plenty of parking
Cons: sometimes hard to re-schedule evening appts.

The trainers are great! They really want you to reach your fitness goals. I have already lost 5 1/2 inches!! I am not one that usually likes to work out, it's more of a chore for me. Once i came here my attitude totally changed...I look forward to coming to each one of my sessions. Erik looked a little intimidating when i first saw him and i thought he was gonna be more like a drill sargent....I could not have been more wrong!!! He's a great people person and easy to talk to, which is great beacause it makes the session go by a lot quicker!!! Everyone should try out this place!!!!
Pros: small studio never crowded, great trainers
Cons: a little pricey

Erik is a great trainer. I started training with him when he was still working out of the Olympic Athletic Club in Ballard. Now he has his own studio which is a much nicer place to work out than the OAC. Having worked out with a number of trainers in the past, Erik is definitely at the top of my list. He's well-educated (the MOST important thing a trainer can be), easy to work with, flexible with the scheduling, and a cool guy. What else do you need?
Pros: Flexible schedule, Good facility, Plenty of Parking
Cons: None of my shirts fit anymore because I'm so huge ;P
