I have used personal trainers in the past and never been fully satisfied for what you get for your time and money. Zen Rock totally changed that for me. Not only is the team fantastic at motivating and training you, but their knowledge base is so deep and thourough you can ask them questions about many aspects of health and feel like you get a good and consise answer that is not just a textbook quote. Finally they have a an absolutely stunning studio that lets me focus on my workout with out a lot of distractions. You cannot go wrong with Zen Rock and they are worth every penny and second of my time that I give to them - thank you!

Pros: Efficient, knowledgable, great location, amazing group of trainers

Cons: None

In this fast paced, commercial world, it's refreshing to find trainers that care more about their clients than their paychecks. But that is exactly what you'll find at Zenrock Fitness. My personal experience with Michael, Petra, and Zenrock has literally been a life changing one. When I was fourteen years old I was diagnosed with a condition called Ankylosing Spolndylitis, a degenerative condition that gradually destroyed the cartilage in my hips and threatens to fuse the vertebrae in my back. I am now twenty-eight years old, yet for thirteen years I have not been able to enjoy life as others my age could. Last year I underwent double hip replacement surgery. This surgery restored the range of motion in hips, though having been less mobile for thirteen years there was no strength in my legs. Having met Michael and Petra through the bank where I was working, they were very concerned about my recovery. They never pushed me to come work out with them, though Michael would show me simple workouts to build up the muscles in my hips, this he did in the lobby of the bank. It was me who approached them about training. They were not only willing to help but excited to. When my fiancee and I started a training with them, we were so impressed with their personability, and attention to our needs. Michael put together a routine that was directed at improving my flexiblity as well as strengthening my legs. He took great care to not my my hips at risk. Through working with Zenrock I have not only gained more strength, but I have Lost 15 pounds, and an overall of 18 inches in body fat. I look forward to continuing towards my goals with Zenrock's help. Thanks Michael and Petra.

Pros: Personal attention - Knowledgeable trainers

Cons: None

I started training at ZenRock after a friend told me about how great the trainers were at helping her reach her goal. My trainer is with me every step of the way motivating and encouraging me to succeed. I am not only working out and having fun, but I am learning how to take control of my life through proper nutrition and moderate exercise. I look forward to my workouts, and feel great about the results I'm acheiving. This is the best investment in me I have ever made.

Pros: Professional Trainers - Conveniently Located - Fun

Cons: Very popular - hard to get appointments

My daughter "forced" me to talk to the owners of Zenrock about three months before her wedding. I was planning on fitting into the tuxedo I had only bought 2 years before but had not made progress toward that goal. I had never felt that personal trainers served a purpose and was sure that my willpower would get me to where I needed to be. Yet here I was 14 pounds heavier with no real direction and the clock steadily ticking. I was immediately put at ease by the demeanor and personality that both Michael and Petra exude. We talked about my fitness goals but focused more on what had gotten me to this state. I agreed to give it a shot for a few weeks and figured that the worst that could happen was that I would actually workout. There was no way I was stopping at the end of the two weeks! With a few diet tweaks and a different approach to working out, I was not only starting to see gains, but I was FEELING better. I chose to see the 3 months out and added a few more goals in addition to just fitting in the tux. I missed a few sessions with Mike due to out of town business meetings and scheduled a make up session with Petra thinking that I would at least get a workout in. 55 minutes later I called it quits before the end of the session. I was completely worn out and fully educated in the many different ways to work ones body. Pose after pose mixed in with strength exercise after strength exercise left me gasping for air and reaching for my pride. We did a few more cool down stretches (didn't I say I quit) and walked a bit further until my heart rate had returned to normal. I felt GREAT. I was tired only minutes before! Needless to say, I not only fit into my tux but many of the other clothes I had grown out of since I began to travel. Thank you Zenrock!

Pros: Personality and knowledge

Cons: None! I can't wait for the new facility!

The search for a good personal trainer for me began 25 years ago, and ended only last year when I started with Zenrock Fitness. I went to a franchise gym (now out of business) for weight training and warned them I wanted to learn good form because I'd heard it's easy to throw your back out. By the time I returned to work from lunch I was literally unable to stand up straight. My lower back was nearly wrecked. Ever since then I've looked for trainers with some very specific qualities: * They need to understand the theory and anatomy required to not, you know, WRECK MY BACK or damage me in other equally creative ways * They must be able to do the excercises at least as well as I can * They must be fit themselves * They must understand when to push and when not to. I tend to overdo some things and ignore others. Simply put, the first trainers I found to meet those standards were at Zenrock. What still amazes me is that they meet all those qualifications and go far beyond what I ever would have hoped for. They also: * Understand nutrition * Help set measurable goals and constantly make sure you're moving forward toward those goals (while never making you guilty) * Make exercise downright enjoyable They are also personable, genuinely caring, holistic thinkers who are all experts in multiple disciplines. So when I wanted to learn boxing, I learned from someone who not only understands boxing deeply but who is also a gold medalist in Tai Kwan Do, who instructs Krav Maga, and who has advanced belts in several other martial arts disciplines. He knows how to draw from all of them and use the best from each, and isn't a snob about any one of the specialties, as so many experts can be. They are so good that I now train 5 days a week, and I have hired a trainer for my wife and young children (ages 8 and 10) too. The Zenrock people provide a level of training you would only dare dream about if you were feeling reckless. Highly recommended.

Pros: Incredible 1 on 1 personal training from highly gifted, caring pros.

Cons: Not dirt cheap (but make no mistake: exceptionally good value for the money)
