Upon arrival (they do not take reservations), I walked through the courtyard as it filled up with the alternative crowd and b-list folks, all smoking. It looked like a marine layer. Our waitress, was obviously overwhelmed with her burden. After throwing down our menu, she returned some 12 minutes later for the wine order - then it was another 8 before we could get her attention to order the food. Everyone is nice, but nice can't make up for the awful food. Its British pub, but worse. My chicken picatta was some sort of odd chicken breast shape; spongy, and the sauces was basically melted butter. The giant head of broccoli that came with it - well it was bigger than the chicken breast. The desert was decent, but who can mess up strawberries and whip cream. I will not be going back, no part of this place is worth it.
Pros: not a thing
Cons: all of it

Its Friday night the 25th of July, and my girl and I have a movie to see at the Arclight on Sunset and Vine. So, while we wait for the show, we decide to have a few drinks at this lofty dive of a bar "The Cat and Fiddle" on Sunset Blvd. I'ld been there before and it was a pretty nice place a few years ago, but it must be under new management, because the way we were treated was infuriating and disrespectful. After being interrogated and tattooed from the not-so-scottish male door staff wearing kilts. We proceeded to the bar where the wannabe actress bartender was slow, pretentious, and stared us down for no reason whatsoever. We were given the wrong drinks, and then when we asked for the RIGHT drinks, they tried to rip us off for the difference between the two drinks we purchased. I asked for my money back, and the bartenders managed to pocket a dollar from my $20, before we started to get angry and decided to leave. I asked to see the manager, which emerged and tried to explain away the situation, of course siding with her bartending staff. She made no attempt to reconcile, and even implied that we were to blame in some way. Profanities were exchanged, fists were about to fly, and a general panic for the doors was eminent. All within a span of 20 minutes. Absolutely horrible experience! I wouldn't recommend this shoddy oasis if it were in the darkest, hottest pit of hell.

A vibrant crowd maintains a laid-back vibe while attentive and friendly waiter rush around on the joint's extensive patio. It is all about socializing and enjoying a good drink on a warm summer night.
Pros: Patio
Cons: Chaotic

I just picked this place to celebrate my b-day because I love the patio and the atmosphere. They have drinks and food and seemed to be a perfect place for an outdoor party. I took over 30 people to their business and I was so disappointed! I asked a young couple if they wouldnt mind changing tables so I could seat close to my friends and they were really friendly but the hostess called the manager on us and threatened me. The manager knows how to do business though and ended up apologizing to us. The hostess was very rude. I don;t understand, we spent hundred of dollars there. Never again!!

i live in l.a and used to go on average once a month . last time apart from yesterday was late march...........................so what has happened since then ??? it's changed for the worst, service by the waitress was slow and she seemed confused by the menu as we were . half of what we ordered was unavailable ............. also the prices have gone up, up, up, and now the options for a complimentary soup or salad with the main meal are gone, if you want a small salad or soup now, you have to pay extra and be lucky if they have any in the kitchen, even though it's on the menu . maybe it's under new management or they are cost cutting for some other reason but the prices are too high for pub grub . our waitress kept repeating the wrong words when we were ordering, like she was deaf........ also she didnt bring the correct bill at the end of it all........

been here twice. i have to say i like the juicy burger they serve up and would even splurge on one right now. The prices were not extremely high and the hamburger was juicy and big just how I like it. The fries "chips" were also decent and even better when accompanied by vinegar. However , my we had the worst waitress ever the first time we went. She did not come back to our table to ask if we wanted refills , my girlfriend got up and went to the bar to buy a soda then the waitress all of the sudden comes over and tells us that it's not free refills and if we need something we have to get it from her. Anyways this place is not good by any means for food , all of the reviews are right but i would imagine it's a fun place to get drinks at night.
Pros: good burger and CHIPS
Cons: horrible rude staff.

For a place that has such a cozy, inviting environment, it has the coldest and rudest staff. The food was just okay, the waitress was unattentive and the bartender didn't even know the drinks on the menu. If you want lousy service this is the place for you. If you want good food and nice atmosphere, then pick one of the other thousands of resturants in LA. They'd love to treat you right.
Pros: The outdoor patio
Cons: Unfortunately, the outdoor patio comes with a rude server

Love eating outside, and smoking a stogie. The food is traditional British, and the courtyard is inviting. Some more beer selection would be welcomed, but other than that, I'll see you next week!
Pros: Cortyard, music.
Cons: Bartenders can bee a bit slow.

The Cat & Fiddle is a great place for a cozy drink anytime of the day or night. I used to meet friends here for early evening and always felt welcome and comfortable. The large outdoor area is distinct among Hollywood bars. Take a group of friends and you'll have a great time.

I like coming here for happy hour. drinks are pretty cheap in general and at happy hour. ther'es also little nibbles of cheese and some cooked stuff. my fave (not on the hh menu) are the crab fingers. so yummy. wine list isn't great but it is a pub after all. patio is fun but sometimes you have to order food to sit there. servers are nice but it can take some time to get your drinks.
Pros: happy hour, good prices, patio
Cons: wait time for drinks, tables sometimes reserved for dinner
